Thats down in the big cities. I live in Northern Ontario and I am half a block from the hospital. When I go there I am seen right away there is no waiting.
In the cities there are so many people and most of them are going to the hospital for things they should not go to a hospital for.
You do not need to run to the hospital every single time you sneeze. Maybe one day the government will smarten up and say if you go to the hospital and it is non emergency you will get charged. You will see the wait times go down after that.
I have said that. Those on Medicaid and Medicare use the ER as their doctor. I have long said post a sign that says: we do not see sore throats, sniffles, flu, headaches, cough without shortness of breath/difficulty breathing. Your insurance will not cover these issues in the ER. You will need to pay by cash or credit card in advance to be seen for these issues, and your wait time may be longer due to the non-emergent nature. You must see your doctor or urgent care for these. The ER is for heart attacks, strokes, shortness of breath/breathing issues, bleeding problems, and broken bones.
I've waited before in the ER but from what I know if you have chest pains or trouble breathing, or are bleeding out or unconscious etc, they have to take you immediately (in US)
They do the same in Canada this person likely is one of the people who go to the ER for non emergencies. That is what the problem is the hospitals need to make it clear you cant just go there because you have a runny nose or you sneezed. Hospitals are supposed to be for emergencies only but people treat it like a doctors office.
Of course they do order by priority. And yes many of the cases should go to urgent care. But those clinics are not as prevalent, and many, many people lack family doctors.
However, you can be sure that most of the people in line here have a cough.
There is a very simple technique to avoid ER/hospital/doctor visits as well as avoiding all diseases - control your tongue's desires. That's right, if we eat healthy and more importantly limited food, we can completely disengage from "health care systems" (as usual in the clown world everything has opposite meaning). Its been over 20 years since I've visited a "doctor" for an ailment.
I agree because the people I know that are sick for long periods of time have poor diets, poor habits and also refuse to takes steps to improve their condition.
Constant coughing? Drink and eat foods to soothe those symptoms (eg pineapple).
Congestion? Lots of vitamin C and water.
Achy muscles? Increase protein intake and rest in proportion to amount of time of exertion.
You should also add. Only take over the counter meds for if the ailment is unbearable for you to live with. Minor headaches can be dealt with proper hydration
urgent care instead ??
For Americans, Ugent care faster

I know only 2 families in Toronto. In 1 case the father had a heart attack, family called for paramedics who never showed up. In the other case the mother collapsed, they called the medics, again no one showed up so they took her to ER themselves but she died on route. Five hours later, body already sent to funeral home, the medics knock on their door..
Last time I was at the hospital I had recurrent C Diff and was on death's door step. However. While I was in the waiting room for 7 hours, a guy came in having a heart attack, had to wait in line like everyone else, and died in front of me it was fucked up. That's Canada health care!
This happens every winter, people run to the ER because they have the flu. The waiting room is filled with flu and dumb shit that could be taken care of at the primary care level.
But the problem, as identified above, is there is no primary level. We have fewer, smaller urgent care centres than hospitals, and most people do not have a family doctor.

Trust me, it's horrible.
Yes my daughter couldn't breathe, but they stabilized her in the ambulance with Oxygen somehow and she went straight to the bottom of the list, we waited 7 hours in the end.

Welcome to socialist healthcare 😠

Tylenol, aspirin and Motrin are toxic on the kidneys and liver.
I think cold baths are better to help with pain symptoms of muscle aches and headaches.
Reverse the current food pyramid: eat more protein and less breads, cereal, pasta.

I go through the VA as I don’t qualify for other healthcare unless I want to pay $1200 a month which I can’t afford.
Being stuck with the VA has taught me one thing. You are 100% worth more dead than you are alive to the government.
Unless you are an illegal alien seen at the VA.

When you don’t pay for anything, one abuses the system.
Medicaid leaches

One of the first Steven Crowder videos I ever watched was about him going through the Canadian health care system.
First he tried to go to a doctor's office--and it was CLOSED.
He asked a passerby why.
Her answer?
"Do not get sick on Sunday."
We have this problem regularly, of course it seems our kids only get sick on weekends!

Had to take my daughter recently at 1am, the wait time was 9 and a half hours. We drove to another near by hospital and the wait time I was 8 hours.
Healthcare is a complete joke.
