There's about a million alternatives to gmail. Proton mail is probably 100x better than gmail.

Protonmail is privacy focused and pretty good for free.

I have a proton account, and used it back in 2021, but its worth also noting that (AFAIK) the People who run CERN are also the same folks who set up proton, and there were instances in 2022 . 2023 where proton handed over customer data to Swiss "authorities" when requested/demanded.

Just good to be aware, imo.

Nope, centralization of services is awful. Elon is just trying to make X the new Google Ecosystem/PayPal. He can scrape my anonymous account but I'd never use it for anything serious or personal.
