Several States are declaring states of Emergency. A couple are apparently mobilizing Law Enforcement Reserves and calling out elements of the National Guard.
Emergency Management Agencies at the state and local level have been advising residents to keep 1-2 weeks groceries on hand. Get any important prescriptions filled in the days before the eclipse. And schedule any important appointments several days before, or several days after. Not to mention arrange to fill vehicle gas tanks and generators before hand.
FAA is reporting about potential delays in airtravel.
There’s concerns over the viability of card payment systems. Leading to several agencies advising people to keep cash on hand.
Concerns over draws on the power grid. Leading to those who have generators being advised to fill them
Delays in Emergency Services
Road Closures etc.
Either they’re trying to gin up fear. Or someone or a group of someone’s knows something about this eclipse that the rest of us aren’t allowed to know
Exactly. Australia are posting emergency warning pamphlets to places that don't usually have issues. Advertising by the red cross 🤔
Other Aussies claim *it's cyclone season etc but I'm nowhere near there and we're also being told stock up 🤨
I traveled to the 2017 eclipse. Once it was over I could have walked backwards faster than traffic on the interstate. So many people were in Casper the burger king 2 blocks from where I parked ran out of food.
I had water, jerky and 25 extra gallons of gas. I pulled over to eat and rest and all of the gas stations ran out of gas. I was glad I planned accordingly. I filled up in Casper before the eclipse so I had no need when I pulled over just a few miles out of town. Took hours to get just a few miles.
I say the good town folk are doing the right thing.
the reason they say this is because people travel to the locations that are having this eclipse. The locals then run out of gas because visitors took it all. I think the panicked way they present it is overblown but that is the reason.
I don't get the fear or the hype, it gets dark every evening much longer than the eclipse.
These people should think about what the left will do the closer we get to the elections, the people pouring in from the border, etc.
People are stupid... if you live in an area that gets snow sporadically... watch the grocery stores for the "milk, eggs and bread" run. It seems like the speed at which these sell out is a metric to determine control levels for MSM brainwashing.
The alarmism is overblown. However, millions will be traveling from across the country into a very small area. This will create congestion and increased demand, especially around big cities and cellular networks that happen to be in the path of totality.
I'll be traveling myself and am not very concerned.
Some people get excited about stuff like this. Probably fun for gatherings and such. I am just not one of those folks in fact if the eclipse happened right overhead I would not be impressed. But I understand the concern about small towns dealing with a crush of tourists they aren't used to. All in all it means vunerability for the public and there better not be any phucking commies or illegals hurting my brother and sister Americans. It is very sad having to know that OUR GOVERNMENT wants us to live in fear.

Strange times…
Lol, same thing in hurricane areas🐸

Thousands of people will be flooding into small communities in the path of totality.
and those people are stupid.
Peak lasts 3 minutes....However the before and after periods still cause it to be dark.
Because of everyone flocking to a few cities cell towers will be jammed groceries will be gone etc
The only reason people rush the stores is because the ‘news’tells you to.

Did it happen? Guess I blinked while working.
Another Y2K?
That's all that comes to mind for me. I was too young to recall is this how they pushed that too 🤔
It just gets dark for a few minutes. Deal with it.
