Rebels claim to have stormed and captured an IRGC Armory in the city of Rask. And a Police Station in Chahbahar. At least 4 Iranian Military and Police confirmed KIA. Unknown number wounded.
Suspected IRGC linked media accounts are claiming revolt has been suppressed. Accounts believed affiliated with the Rebels claim fighting is only intensifying.
A couple rumors Iranian Citizens in the area are taking up arms to join the Rebels. Nothing definitively confirmed on that front yet from Government or Rebel Media accounts that I’ve been able to find.
Footage taken by Rebels allegedly from inside the seized Armory
2nd Update:
Rebel Militia claiming to have captured 5 IRGC facilities. And hold parts of several Key Roads/Rail Lines in the region. Frustrating attempts to deploy Government reinforcements. Fighting continues in the cities of Rask and Chahbahar. Helicopters, Gunships, and Combat UAVs of the Iranian Armed Forces seen deploying to the region. Some unconfirmed reports of Armored Units being dispatched to the region. IRGC Naval Headquarters in Chahbahar claimed captured by Rebels.
Iranian Internal Security Claim situation is under control and Rebel Forces isolated in Chahbahar. Gunfire and explosions still reported throughout the cities of Rask and Chahbahar.
5 Iranian Security Forces and 5 Rebels allegedly confirmed KIA. According to Iranian State Sources. Fighting reportedly continues
3rd Update: IRGC Regional headquarters in the city of Rask is apparently hotly contested with Room to Room fighting between Iranian Security Forces and Rebel Militia.
4th Update: Rebels claim to have taken IRGC Headquarters in Rask. Claiming several dozen Iranian Security Forces KIA.
Though if they intend on turning this into a taking and holding territory mission. Rather then just a particularly severe version of the cross border raids this group has been known for. They’ll likely have to moderate their stance.
The Shiite government and Religious establishment isn’t particularly popular anymore. Even among Shiites. As the numerous protests and quashed uprisings. As well as several publicized public beatings of the “Moral Police” and Government Mouthpieces by angry citizens can attest.
Though it’s just as likely this could trigger unrelated Shitte uprisings elsewhere in the country if they’re unsuccessful in suppressing this one.
Islamic fundamentalism is a fairly recent phenomenon in Iran. There are people there my age that remember a far more secular culture. Go back and look at pictures from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Look at how Iranian expats live in this country today. Islam was imposed on the Iranian people just as LGBTQ culture (you could even call it a religion, it is very like one) is being imposed on us.
I'm not "religious,"(nor am I anti religious) however, I am interested in some ways you would consider "LGBTQ culture" to be very much like a religion...that is, if you don't mind elaborating. Thanks
The important thing to remember is we are funding both/all sides of this bullshit.
Very important
Wasn't there a certain family that funded both sides of World War 2??
Soooo CIA?
No, man. It's "secessionist rebel militias."
Insert "it's the same picture" meme🐸

Is this the ancient Sunni "Shiite" strife? I was told the Sunni's refer to the Shiite's as "Shitties". FWIW.
Potentially. The Secessionists are largely Sunni.

Sunni is Saudi Arabia right, meaning the Saudi's a Sunni. Could they have a hand in this?
The movie keeps getting more interesting 😎
