Just hit me now, and maybe I'm way past my bedtime, but I always thought the rotation creates the gravity on planets. But the moon does not spin/turn. So how does the astronauts stay on the moon (if they were ever there)?

Mass generates gravity. Not rotation. The exact mechanism that occurs due to mass is still up for debate.
The moon does rotate. It’s phase locked because the time it takes to rotate one time on its own axis is almost perfectly equivalent to the time it takes to orbit the earth one time.
This phenomenon is called orbital resonance and occurs with other moons in our system, although our moon has the only 1:1 resonance.

I agree, go to bed. But to answer your question- these are 2 different things. Rotation does not create gravity. The mass of an object is what creates gravity. The "heavier" it is, the more gravitational attraction. It doesn't matter if it moves, spins, or flips. It is the mass (what we usually call weight) that creates gravity.
Mass generates gravity, are you confusing rotation with the centripetal force "artificial gravity" shown in sci-fi? The Moon does rotate, it is tidally-locked with the Earth so it rotates just fast enough as it orbits that the same side faces the Earth. Venus has similar gravity to the Earth being almost the same size even though it spins so slow that it's day is slightly longer than it's year.
'micro-gravity'' can be achieved on a rotating space-station due to centripical force. but thats not actual gravity its a mechanical force of physics

To be fair to OP, that is still theoretical science. Einstein never quite nailed down his theories on “why” gravity exists, but it does, and he nailed that down, and its measurable, testable, reproducible, and if you want to flex on gravity, gravity wins lol
