I see a horse in Charlie's portrait. Look at the "butterfly" over his shoulder as either a small muzzle or dark coloration on the horse's mouth/nose. Look at the white horse in the photo - dark right at the mouth/nose. Back to Charlie's portrait, just above the butterfly/dark spot you can see the eye and you can see the horse's whole nose/face, neck to the left, ears.
the artist didn't paint his sausage fingers.
