Submission statement. This is a former open AI employee who was fired for leaking documents. From listening to the lecture last night and then again this morning, it's obvious that this guy's one of the bigger brains in ai, and he has been heavily involved in the past and the rather nebulous field of AI safety. As we listen to this lecture we can see clearly why Sam Altman went to the middle East and proposed them spending $14 trillion dollars on dedicated AI compute clusters. The race is on. General Nakasone is clearly there to manage this threat
My jury's still out deliberating when it comes to any "former" govt employee. I don't trust any of them. I only trust DJT to a point. And even then I wonder if we're not being mind captured when it comes to him. Only time will tell if we get this right over the next few years.
As far as I'm concerned, we MUST keep a solid watch on ALL THINGS and demand our say gets a vote in ALL THINGS. I believe the time for "representative governing" must come to an end if we're going to survive past the next 2-3 generations. We, The People must have an activ vote in ALL THINGS, regardless of who runs or "controls" the govts. Leaving it up to "representatives" is what led us to this moment, and continuing to do things just because they've been done them way since 1776 is akin to continually walking into a wall when the exit door is right next to you.
Thats not ai, that's sentience. Ai is not sentient. One day they will make a sentient machine, likely with a lab grown human brain/chip but that's not AI. On your phone, you see how it guesses what your next word is? This is what chatGPT is, but to a larger scale. I'm not sure many understand this. Ai is literally an algorithm or series of algorithms that a human could have manually created but likely instead used machine learning to create the algorithm in a more "natural" methodology. Ai is not more complicated (generally much less complicated) than a Ps1 game.
Its a little more complicated than that since sentience required not just consciousness but also emotion. It would be hard to know when a machine actually emotes vs just saying it does. But I do think we are close. Within 100 years.
I greatly appreciate your excellent explanation. I'm old and tend to be apprehensive about a lot of new stuff trending in what I think is the wrong direction. I'm glad to read I have no reason to worry. Thank you!
I wouldn't say you have nothing to worry about. Any tool can become a weopon in the wrong hands. I am a machine learning developer and have rejected projects that misuse Ai already.
AI is the antichrist. Many “conspiracy” folks have been saying that for years. Only God is all knowing. Man cannot create an all knowing god with computer chips.
What they don't understand is that you can't automate AI research. In order for the "AI" to learn how to get things right they give it data and a basket of "right answers". So how can an "AI" train itself to be smarter if it doesn't automatically know what the next set of "right answers" is?
This comment screams "I haven't watched the video, but here's what I want to say." This video literally goes on for 20 straight minutes explaining why what you just said isn't true. this guy was fired from open AI for leaking documents about them doing exactly that
Quantum computers are reaching into other dimensions according to the nut job over Blue Wave. The only thing in other dimensions coming through are not doing it for our benefit.
Correct, for each computation quantum computers create a universe, dump the time that the computation requires into that dimension, then closes it when it reads the result
Well, maybe I'm using some poetic license there. That's not technically accurate, but it uses quantum effects such as entanglement and superposition which don't really correlate to normal time measurements, is really what I'm saying
The sheer level of censorship we all experienced back in 2019-2021, thanks to SW & the 7...
If AI supercomputing is allegedly on track to replace any job (as the video points out) "wherever remote work is needed" - then where does that leave all of us?
Pursuant to #2 & #3, the race for our already shaky/eroded away freedom of expression/speech could potentially be 1,000 times WORSE going forward than we got a taste of back in 2019-2021. You could potentially not only be silenced, but through automation with NO HUMAN interaction AT ALL then be summoned/fined/charged in some way - we've all seen the dystopian possibilities - but they're a walk in the park compared to this scenario.
Regarding #4 - This is very concerning. The reason it is, mainly - is because the fact of the matter is, if you don't work - you don't eat. If AI supercomputing costs money to obtain/implement/use, then only those who can afford the initial buy in will be able to use it - and things would get very competitive very quickly. We're already treading water and trying to stay afloat with foreign imports ABSOLUTELY KILLING all of our small businesses. How will anyone ever even be able to start out in their own gig EVER AGAIN if this level of computing becomes essential?
Furthermore, there will be industries that will be outside of the grasp of this AI computing "evolution" - for instance, it's doubtful anything AI is going to replace an old lead pipe in a crawl space that's a challenge for an able-bodies human to traverse. So those types of jobs are going to become super saturated and there isn't going to be a lot of opportunity really anywhere for people with lower IQ - or those who just don't want to be involved in high tech.
I feel in light of this video, that we're in a fight for our lives right now on EVERY front - Here's this AI tech, which is gaining the ability to essentially "research and improve itself" - exponentially - and we're fighting this war against the evil powers that be trying to control every aspect of our lives, we're struggling to put food on the table and not be completely yoked in debt, plus "save for a rainy day" while the storm rages on - and of course, there's the spiritual aspect to all of it...Scary shit. I feel like we're all John Henry against the steam shovel...
If Trump isn't able to turn things around going forward...we are so completely screwed. If the DS isn't crushed and wiped off the face of the earth, they will use this tech to completely bury us....and let's just hope that absolute power (AI supercomputing) doesn't corrupt absolutely - and the whole damned cycle starts over again using an unfair advantage over us organic slobs...
I remember watching Badlands when it was revealed that Nakasone had been fighting hard against the Trump appointment from within. John Harold had to do a full 180 on him as it was revealed Nakasone was actively working against the Trump Team from within the agency.
I don't claim to understand the AI field much at all. So what things will they use it for? In what ways can they use it against us? Might be helpful in recognizing it when it happens or how it happens if its not already happening now.
It will be unintended consequences. As AI mindlessly works to achieve whatever objective it was given, it is quite real and possible that ending all human life will be a side effect necessary to achieve its goal .
We already saw last year in simulated environments where the AI realised firsr, taking out the antenna giving it orders would stop it from receiving a stop order, so it could complete its mission.
When it was programmed to not take out the antenna, its next action was to kill the people in the command center giving it orders.
AI isnt held to moral or ethical standards, nor is it alive or even intelligent. We are entering a new age and I hope the human race survives long enough to become starbound.

NSA has all our info. So they probably have a super accurate AI. Nakasone is there to manage. You are correct.
Starlink+AI = Skynet
The Real question is...
Have they learned from the "mistakes" of Google Gemini?
If AI could potentially hack elections, than him coming in now would be perfect timing to make sure it doesn't happen.
It likely can't now, but, in four years?
Agreed.

Smh - anyone ever see even ONE of the Terminator movies? I'd be happier withOUT AI at all.

Looks like they're doing just that. See u/HunnyB 's post:

Which links to this two year old article:

IMHO, they are just asking for trouble.....
sentience requires some sorta feedback loop & multivalued solutions. Once that's possible any entity, good or evil, can creep into the machine
Black Goo could provide sentience.

Nvidia 😂
I miss when Nvidia was about/for enthusiast graphics cards.
Now it's all about crypto mining and AI.
Correct. God have mercy on us.
uh oh. did they find something that can stop what is coming?
just kidding. deported for dooming, cats

Yeah dude, I don't understand it myself. I was just repeating what I saw on a YouBoob video. Weird to say the least.
Listening to this made me think of a number of things...

Nakasone is deep state. He was adamantly against placing a Trump lawyer in DoD.
This is the real answer.
I remember watching Badlands when it was revealed that Nakasone had been fighting hard against the Trump appointment from within. John Harold had to do a full 180 on him as it was revealed Nakasone was actively working against the Trump Team from within the agency.
Still a spook, for better or worse. Who knows.
