Corn has narrow, and shallow roots. I could not guess how many of life's problems, wound up in a cornfield. Just a shovel depth on one side of the plant, a shovel on the other side, life the plant straight up and lay to the side, Continue along a row for ~10 ft. Dig a nice narrow hole to depth, get rid of the garbage, cover and preplace the plants. It will sit there, and won't be disturbed until multi-ton combine drives over to remove the corn from the husk of the pant.
Then it will remain, covered in snow, until the following spring, when a plow will turn the soil over, at a depth of approximately 8-12 inches. Then it will sit again, and the soil will either again be planted with crops, or perhaps a disk will again smooth the soil surface 4-6" depth with a disk plow, before being planted with small grain.

5 buses and a supply truck. 1 platoon per bus. 4 combat platoons and 1 support platoon (water food medics). With Soros type money this is totally possible. Dosent matter where you get the people to put on the bus (blue haired basement dwellers or illegals) they will do what they are told. This unit could roll in and decimate a small town in hours pack up and roll on to the next small town. No small town law enforcement could react fast enough to stop them especially if you took out police dept first.
You're on the mark about LE. We have a sheriff with 3 deputies and they patrol the entire county 24x7. Couple town LEOs for traffic tickets and the occasional Statie rolling through. Chances are that very few could be on the scene immediately.
If they were really coordinated and staged an accident in a far corner of the county, they'd effectively pull all the LEOs away for a few hours.
