Three Gorges Dam in Immanent Danger due to excess rainfall...Breaking: As flood No. 2 hit the upper Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Dam in Yichang, China, saw its water level rise to over 544 feet on July 14. In response, the dam opened six floodgates, releasing water to manage flood levels.

I pray it doesn't. China may be an enemy but not the 100 million or more civilians likely to die.
There are about 400 million people living in the direct path of the tidal wave that would result in the dam's collapse… hence most estimates put the anticipated death toll in the 50 million range, some up to 100 million from the initial tidal wave that will demolish hundreds of cities.
If that dam does collapse, I do believe China will basically be effectively eliminated as a threat to the region militarily for the next year or more. They simply won't have the capacity to begin any conflicts or wars while so much of their country and infrastructure has been decimated and collapsed all the way to the coastal ports. The loss of innocent life would be sad and undesirable though. However, such a massive disaster could become a tipping point for the Chinese people to finally reject and overthrow the CCP.
It'll collapse for sure if they bought it on Temu!!
Maybe an ikea damn?
If that dam collapsed, it would be global economic collapse within weeks. More than 100,000,000 people would likely die, with numerous cities that are in the flood path contributing immensely to every supply chain across the world. It would mean the end of the CCP, sure, but are we ready for a global great depression? Not sure most would accept this trade-off. That being said, if it collapses, it isn't the fault of anyone but China.
Somehow an American Engineering firm was brought in to assess the dams construction. The Americans started looking over the sight and asking questions. The anchor points were getting buried and they asked chinese officials to stop and let them look over these critical areas before they are buried. The Americans were worried the anchor points were not adequate. The Chinese officials ( pride) was hurt and they told the Americans it was fine. The Americans said we cannot properly assess the dam if we cannot look at the work being done. The chinese just wanted the Engineering firm to rubber stamp their assessment for American investors. They packed up and left. No one ever was able to assess the dams construction except for the Chinese themselves. This debacle is 1000% on the chinese and their Pride! What is that biblical saying? PRIDE GOETH BEFORE THE FALL. the Birge Califfa ( tallest building in the world) had American Engineering firms scrutiny the entire time it was being built. Every single cement truck had its cement mix checked. The elevation of every floor was measured and confirmed. It was checked, and checked during its entire construction. Why, so it would not fall down. In China nothing of the sort was done for the three tofu dams.

Terrible, but a very funny meme
Someone commented Where is the dude with the stick meme on a thread here and I suck at memes, but couldn't resist...
He's kind of a dick for saying that.
(Come on... you see what I did there, right?)
I don't really wish harm on the ordinary folks anywhere. There was a time when I was single, I had the Great Wall and Terracotta Army pictures on my west wall, I had Machu Pichu and Tiwanoku on my southern wall, and the Great Pyramids and The Temple of Hatshepsut on my eastern wall. Feng Shui bachelor decore. I'm from Orlando, a true melting pot, and I dated ladies from several countries, cultures, and races.
However, I have no sympathy for the Crimes against Humanity or Treason. People. China was on pace to surpass the USA in GDP a few years back, but now they have fallen way behind, thanks to Trump and then their Karma re: Covid.
For several Generations China has been getting away with stealing, buying up whatever it can, and influencing everywhere. They sell drugs of all sorts, and most of their products are poor quality. In the USA they send their best stuff, in the third world they sell junk that's cheap, but often is already broken in the stores. I do care about the people, but the economic impact on business, not so much. China needs to be returned to isolation.
The last time a few years ago, when the dam was in danger, there were a lot of memes and posts re: the dam collapse, I'm not really sitting around praying God takes it out.
