nope. staying, fighting, dying is my current trajectory.
Hell yeah!
Based af. Fuck yeah!
I personally don't know if I would want to move. I like where I am and I am a red-blooded American, but if America no longer existed, I would consider moving to Russia. But I've heard that it's tough to learn Russian and there is xenophobia in most cities besides Moscow. I'm sure that the good outweighs the bad, since at least Russia isn't actively trying to abort every child in existence and ban God.
I've been studying Russian for the last 60 days. It's not easy but not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. Try the app Duolingo. It's actually fun.
It comes easy that way - can vouch for the app. Advice from Canadians on the ground is to at least learn some polite phrases and the letters - politeness will get you everywhere - the hardest letters are what we Anglo-speakers call dipthongs - the combination of sounds.
Also, there are some good Russians on Youtube that can help with watching movies or whatever, so you can hear it spoken. I learn a lot from just watching that stuff, and hearing words I know, and slowly gaining vocab. I liked the first season of 'Silver Spoon'; and the movie 'Silver Skates' but also some of the darker military history movies, and Romantic seventies stuff featuring commie-blocks.
But really, my aim is to be able to hear what they are saying, not to move there. I am here.
Same
I am very sorry, but multiple professional linguists discredit Duolingo as real learning for native speak. It is very weak in grammar and is designed as a product to keep you coming back
At some point and time, we ALL have to stand up and fight back, no matter where you live here on Earth. To me, with the US being hit as hard is it has been, and seemingly how we may be one of the last to be freed, tells me we live in one of the most Godly of lands, the most center of it all. Russia and the USA are closer than we all realize in location. NCSWIC means all of us, not just a single location, we just play our part in His eyes and He will deal with the rest of it.
Also no 2A in Russia.
It's certainly not set up the way it is in the US. But: there are guns. When this invasion in Kursk started, people drove down to provide security for things like gas station customers so they didn't get attacked. Just sitting around with lawnchairs and firearms, offering packs of cigarettes to troops who came by. So while it's not "constitutional permitless open carry across the Russian Federation", it's also definitely not as simple as "Russia grabs all your guns and prevents you from getting any".
There's building resistance to MSDNC America, but having lived in Russia for the past 5 years, I assure you that things get warmer very quickly as soon as it becomes clear that you support traditional Russian values and that's why you're here. Even people who are more liberal and would like to live in the west respect that.
Russians and Americans are far more similar historically than we are lead to believe!
I appreciate the offer, but, I was born an American, I will die an American.

I would consider it if I lived in the UK.
If I was young and single again you couldn't stop me from going. But I'd be back with a gorgeous Russian lady.
Rate her on a scale of Hillary to Melania
You may be interested to know that this legislation was patterned after the needs of a GAW member! My large family moved from the US to Russia in 2019, before covid (and I wasn't aware of Q beyond the headlines), and had a huge mess of the immigration process, but we really wanted to be here and Russia really wanted to have us. So we got help from a legislator and they put together legislation that would make it easier to handle cases like ours.
Except for the language barrier we have never felt more at home.
I very much respect the desire to stay and fight, etc. My young family was unfortunately targeted by extremely unsavory people and the pressure (including on my children) was increasing. This way they got a childhood amid the global war on humanity, thank God.
But yeah, there's a direct GAW connection to this headline!
Anyone actually considering this may want to check out a YouTube channel titled Eli from Russia.
It's hosted by a young Russian woman who travels all over Russia exploring the land and the culture of the different ethnic groups. Her English is very good & she has subtitles for when the locals speak in their own dialects.
There's a lot more to that country than Moscow, caviar and the Ultra-Natashas.
If it picks up steam we'll have less allies in the trenches at home
You have a point. Consider a counterpoint. The information war is an important front of the war on humanity. People moving from the west to Russia forces people who aren't usually reflecting on patriotic themes into some conversations. This speeds up the awakening. It's a form of personal action. And some people (like my own family) really need a way to escape.
TASS is an official outlet for the Russian Government, so I believe the offer is true and valid.
Furthermore, I have been following some families on youtube who have made the move, and are reporting favorably on it. And yes, the main reason is to offer their children to experience a life without those things that we all hate. For Cristian families it could be seen as a necessity, as their lives are busy enough already without fighting the disgusting system. There are also those who are facing persecution (Check out: Richard Medhurst - a second generation Christian peace-activist, arrested on terrorist charges in the UK (preposterous), today; or US' Tara Reade - such people may just want to get some peace and safety in Russia, already)
However, there are others who will want to remain and fix things at home, like Scott Ritter. And that's important too. Really.
This is great. If Western countries can import foreigners that destroy their nations, Russia is working to become stronger by inviting foreigners that will be an asset to Russia, even if it just being good, simple people that respect and want to live by Russian values.
By the way, I have been studying Russian since 2006. I studied 45 hours of Pimsleur Russian 1,2, and 3 for 3 years, listening to each lesson about 5-6 times until I could respond correctly without thinking while driving, walking, etc. Then I went to Moscow State University for 2 weeks and studied with a private tutor for 5 hours a day. After that I studied via Skype for 5 years.
I will stay and fight for my country even though it may cost me my life. I am not one to press the easy button.
