As I watch my parents memory decline drastically from this death shot, I sometimes investigate to see what could possibly be done for them.
I've come across something interesting, probably a long shot, but been focusing on substances that increase neurogenesis.
Psychedelics have been shown to increase neurogenesis. One that is really serious and surprisingly effective is ibogaine.
Ibogaine has been used to get people off of heroin, alcohol, and other addictive substances in one treatment. It is being researched in Parkinson's disease. It really is miraculous if you look at the data.
Now, it is incredibly taxing on the body. If you have anyone suffering from addiction, you should look into this. It is pretty expensive and kind of dangerous if done alone, so there are clinics in Mexico that do this under strict medical supervision.
But it is being used for Parkinson's because it increases GDNF, which can help the brain grow new dopaminergic cells. Addicts come out of the treatment feeling pretty damn good. Veterans are starting to go for PTSD- Sean Ryan did this exact treatment.
The question I have is if anyone uses this, especially us God-Fearing people, is this a sin? I know psychedelics are entering into other realms, other entities, and is something God has warned about. There is definite spiritual danger in messing with psychedelics.
Using it strictly for medicinal purposes, not to speak with entities or to get high, but to help PTSD, neurogenesis, etc. What's your opinion on the nature of this. How do you think God views this?
There are some great Christians in this place, smarter and better than me. Would love to know what you guys think from a sin perspective.
I use psilocybin which i do not consider evil. I use recreationally and helped others with medicinal intent for the potential properties you described. Sadly no positive impact on tinnitus, but great for boosting positive outlook and mood for someone suffering.
I prefer a low dose and proper mindset, right time, right place. I generally have some intense insight or knowing each time, even when just out to have fun , that shifts my lifes direction in some way. I do not see this as coming from any evil source but from Gods unconditional love. I first used as a teen and am convinced it played a part in curing an emotional trauma overnight which was like the permanent removal of a veil i did not know i was shrouded in.
These substances do amplify the energy you bring into them. Which is why its a bad idea to do them in a bad mood or with bad intentions, youll just give yourself a bad trip with negative thoughts and visuals. That said its pretty hard to have any evil intent from the shrooms themselves as they produce a smiley giddyness thats quite innocent. One new avenue of use is helping hospice patients be at peace with their upcoming passing which is very fitting.
LSD is a different substance and while ive not had a bad experience the few times i tried it, nor do i think it evil itself, its certainly can produce bad trips just from how intense it is. Governments loved using it to experiment on people so these things can be used by others for evil intent. At too high of dose, or if you fight the high or allow fear in, probably not a great experience. But ive also had beautiful life altering experiences there too. id still pick psilocybin over it.
I dont know a single thing about ibogane so cant advise there. But thinking about giving your elderly parents psychadelics, i am very concerned promoting a psychadelic experience to someone who may not understand what they are consenting to. If you proceed absolutely go low dose psilocybin, like 0.3 g mushrooms or less. This produces a pleasant but notabl3 alteration while still fully in control, and isnt so intense as to be unbearable for the hours it lasts.
Your last paragraph gave me a laugh. My dumbass didn't even consider that. Probably not a solution for the elderly unless they are dying of cancer. I hear that shrooms really help people who are terminal accept that it will happen and get rid of the depression that follows.
Lion's Mane and psychedelic mushrooms combined apparently make a fine concoction. Listen to Paul Stamets on this subject. I am trying to work out the same fir my dad. You can take the psychedelic mushrooms in an almost imperceptible amount and still enjoy the benefits. They also regenerate neural connections. The lion's mane, while not a cure, can prevent these things from progressing.
And from a sin perspective, these things are a gift from God. We have just been lied to for a very long time to believe otherwise.
Exactly. I do it. The dosage just before you ‘feel it’ (you take a little bit more each time until you feel a little something and then take the next lower dose.) I do .2 grams cubensis with 25mg niacin and 500mg lions mane a few times a week for two weeks and three weeks ‘off’ - the just niacin and lions mane on ‘off’ days. Big difference in daily life for the better!
I’m 71 soon to be 72 - I take 500+ mg of tumeric daily and I feel “smart” - I actually am smart and have no cognitive disabilities but I’m also very disabled in mobility - working on this daily because like most of us we sat on our butts for years and it screwed us up— ok I’m done bitching — I’ll water the freaking garden tomorrow because it’s never gonna rain 😑
Hmmmm lots of Paul and only one line of Jesus.
Well, if it's a sport where we keep score, sure. If you like, you can give more weight to the Jesus passage. What do you think, 100 points for each Red Letter word and 2 points for each black letter word? What's your point?
So what, paul received the word by revelation same as Jesus did. In fact Paul received the revelation of the mystery which had been hid from the eyes of all men including Jesus until God revealed it through Paul. Pauls epistles are written directly to us to use for doctrine, reproof and correction. Written to those of us in the grace administration that was founded on pentecoste. Your comment implies youbstill luve under the law rather than grace. By the law no man shall be justified. Just as Christ had his role in salvation Paul was a chosen vessel of God to teach us what wonderful power we have since the day of pentecosts due to the perfect works of Christ.
Thank you for the scripture references.
Psychedelics have been used by witches and warlocks to convene with demonic entities. Is intention the difference?
If you go into a psychedelic experience trying to heal trauma or addiction, would that change everything?
It's just tough to see the bad side of psychedelic therapy being a sin for medical purposes, but it is basically going into the unseen realms. This is one of those confusing questions.
You believe it is not a sin, correct?
I believe the intention is a major factor in something like this. There is no doubt that certain God-created substances in nature have potential for tremendous healing or for tremendous harm. There are also certain actions and activities that can open doors for demons to do their evil work. The Word tells us to use the Holy Spirit and wisdom to guide our actions, especially in the gray areas that are not outlined in other scriptures. However, the main thing is, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Do you believe that you are saved by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, or do you believe that you need to achieve salvation by avoiding sin? If it's the latter, I'm afraid I have some terrible news for you...but also some wonderful news. The terrible news is that you were born dead in your sin, and any sinful thought, word, or deed after that only makes things worse. God does not grade on a curve; a passing grade with Him is only 100% and nothing less. The wonderful news is that that is why Jesus Christ came to die, and His death and resurrection makes us right with God and brings us from spiritual death to spiritual life. This is the message of scripture, and many do not understand it. I go back to the first verse I quoted: There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. If you are IN HIM, you will not only be guided by the Spirit, but you have been and will continue to be forgiven for the times you strayed.
Very wisely said. Thank you. God bless you
An uncontrolled mind doesn't need a mushroom to let a devil spirit in.
It's no more a "sin" than eating swine. If you think you're going to burn in hell over a ham sandwich or BLT or say, mushrooms...then I'd say that's the least if your problems.
You know Jesus wouldn't eat any of those things... How far do you want to take it?
The Creator put these substances on earth for us to use. These so called preachers have perpetuated ignorance and fear to keep everyone in the sheep pen.... because if you discovered who you are via psychedelics, you'd very quickly realize you don't need them anymore... So yanno, there is that.
I did an ibogaine treatment a dozen years ago. I'd been off opiates and sober a couple years. The craving was still a tickle in my psyche. After the treatment, I never craved again and I have had to take opiates several times for surgery since and had no desire to abuse them. Amazing stuff. Threw up for 30 hours off and on. No way anyone would get addicted. Worth doing but not fun in the process.
Wow, congrats on your sobriety. Just looking at it objectively and with people like you who can testify to the effectiveness of it, this could do tremendous good for our situation in this country.
From the accounts that I've read, it is not addictive, but actually a very painful and tough experience. Not an addictive substance at all.
I'm assuming you went down to South America to do it?
Nope. In the good ole US with a compassionate nurse...illegal because you can't patent what God made and they don't want anyone well and independent.
Thank you
I would try other things first but I don’t think that would revoke what Jesus did on the cross for us.
I’ve been studying the ketogenic and carnivore diet for many self induced illnesses as well as “aging issues”. It turns people’s health around and sometimes quite dramatically. Especially when they can get rid of statin use. Seems the human body actually does better when cholesterol is left alone to do what it needs to do.
No, it's not a sin. Yes, intention means everything. The Bible as it is presented to us is used as a control mechanism to anchor the human race and keep us from finding our true purpose. You can be a true believer in God without the use of a man made narrative like the Bible. Use your own God given power of discernment, not the preachings of a corrupted system called "religion" to guide your moral compass.
I am a true believer in God and Christ and also routinely use psychedelics to reset my self when I feel it's needed. I came to this practice when literally everything else I tried failed me. It saved and transformed my life for the better.
Try it and see for yourself. However, I will caution you on when to try it. If you are not 100% ready for the experience, you risk having a bad one. And you must properly prepare yourself for that journey. Pray on it, fast, hydrate, and then embark on your journey. It'll change your life for the positive, forever.
Thank you. Your way of thinking is what I believe too.
If using psychedelics to mingle with other spirits and wanting to have "spiritual" experience, this is what I believe is forbidden.
But trying to better your life, habits, addictions, or even your physical brain, I think God would be accepting of that as long as you're not trying to find another "god'.
I was huge into psychedelics until I tried ibogaine and met the iboga spirit I've seen "entities" on dmt and this was nothing like it I knew I encountered a spirit and it wasn't holy. If you do some research this is common and the iboga spirit is part of the folklore of the drug https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14669099 I met the same African man describe in the forum and I tried to "break through" but right before the spirit would try to enter me my eyes would physical pop open not allowing my mind to go somewhere else I 100% believe this is only because I prayed before and my wife was praying for my safety during the process. It didn't heal me I smoke just as much as I did before I just don't use psychedelics anymore because the spiritual consequences. The bwiti used it to talk to the dead us Christians know that isn't possible it's demons
The last line is not agreed upon by all Christians. This has been under debate for centuries. Arguments for both sides are very good but we won't really know until we die.
The dead are dead. God says there is no rememberance from the grave. Devil spirits called familiar spirits in the bible live to imitate the dead. Read up on king soul and the witch of endor and where that got him.
When Christ Comes back the dead in Christ shall rise first... if they are already alive running around up there then why?
Very interesting. So you would be against using ibogaine for heroin addicts?
God only told us not to eat the apples in the garden of Eden, after we cocked that up, I'm pretty sure the rest of the plants are fair game, use at your own risk kinda thing.
Right to try!
I designed my own protocol, using psilocybin (based on the iboga techniques being used at the time in the Netherlands) to arrest a nicotine habit, and have now been tobacco free for 43 years.
Why would nutrition be sinful?
Research: Sacred Mushroom in connection to the bible ....

Psilocybin has helped bring me closer to God. It was a gift to me, and I believe it's helped to decalcify my pineal galnd.
The research on ibogaine is incredible. We have an opiate crisis right now, and people are basically skipping the withdrawal and dealing with their trauma. The success rate is pretty damn high.
Of course, it is illegal in the US because this demonic entity wants to profit off of addicts. This could be a huge step forward in combatting this epidemic if it were legalized and priced into an affordable package for anyone to receive this therapy. I was blown away when I read about it.
It is a bit dangerous, but with proper medial staff, very safe. Heroin addicts are flirting with dying every single day from fentanyl.
But there are the ethical questions that have me wondering about if this is acceptable by Christ. It is a plant made by God. I'm still debating this as I've seen other Christians saying it is sinful and unacceptable.
I think they might be wrong.. Who knows. Im glad mushrooms helped you
Many Christians do not believe in drinking Alchohol at all and getting drunk a sin. It is not in the 10 commandments and Jesus drank wine and at that wedding he probably got drunk. Most of my family were addicted but still followed Christ. They stayed clean but still had to battle it.
Over indulgence of almost anything is going to be bad for you and gluttony is looked down upon in God's word.
If you head into any CBD/Delta-8 type shop (in TX we have only this) they generally have a large selection of "almost" psilocybin gummies and such. I haven't tried them myself... and I'm sure they aren't a solution... but they could help... or even CBD. I have experience (well ,through a relative with a transplant) that hand shakes and memory issues due to being on steroids for a long period of time are helped by CBD. Although they report basically nothing felt at all head wise... they just don't have shaking hands for a while and they are still figuring out if it helps with memory. No addiction from these things unlike oxycodone or other very addictive things you might get perscribed and not consider the drug side of it. Now for your actual question... I would look at anything being used medically and not abused can't be a bad thing - legality to me is important with family and kids, probably should consider this. Best of wishes to your parents, fren. NCSWIC!
