Android phones absolutely listen and serve ads. I stood next to my sister-in-law as she talked about a vacation property her family owns on the other side of the country. Thirty minutes later I'm served ads for visiting the very city she talked about.
Is there someone alive who still doesn't understand this? That their smartphone MUST be eavesdropping on them 100% of the time in order to hear the rare time they go "Hey Alexa" or "Hey Google"? How else could it possibly know when you said its name?
We use a Mic Lock so we never have to worry about govt listening in on us
They sell them on Amazon
KEEP CONVERSATIONS PRIVATE! Mic-Lock secures your device’s microphone input with a lifetime guarantee. When plugged in, Mic-Lock will automatically becomes the device’s primary “microphone” which prevents others from listening in.

SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE: Remove rubber keychain top, plug into our 3.5mm headphone port, and you are good to go! Works with any device with a 3.5mm port, like laptops, desktop computers, cell phones, and tablets.
Don't come back and say they don't work; I've been using them for years and can attest they absolutely, 100%, unequivocally work exactly as described.
We've known this for years now. Once upon a time, you used to be able to disable your microphone and it wouldn't work, even if you tried to make a call. That was in the days before smart phones. Since 2010, that feature has been removed.
So yeah, when the NSA says they have it all, they do in fact mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!
Edit: also, turn your phones off tonight before bed, set your alarm clock to 2 a.m., and watch what your phone does between 2:30-3.
I use a crappy rechargeable speaker and I had to fight with my iPhone over volume with the phone turning the volume down or even crashing my app. Seems my I-Phone thinks the speaker is a pair of earbuds. I eventually outwitted it, by turning off the feature after digging through the maze of settings. Kek
On an Android phone, you can turn on developer options. After doing that, you can manually shutdown the camera and microphone. No idea if anything like this is available on iPhone.
My latest phone came with the app but I've never logged into it. PC only for all that crap, with firewalls and ad blockers and a strong cleaner. Seek-and-destroy on the ads, so I don't even know what it was. Their AI ad bots have been at it for years.
Actually, your PHONE listens to you.
Talk about something specific and you'll soon see ads for that product pop up on every website you visit.
That seems to do that on iPhones only.
Android doesn't.
We tested the theory at work one day. We said something about tractors and all the iPhones had ads about tractors but the Androids didn't.
My Android does it all the time. Samsung Galaxy.
My buddies and I just BS'ing or with coworkers, we'll all see ads.
No it doesn't I have the same thing. I am trying it now NOTHING.
Okaaaaay. Guess you have my phone and knows what it does! Have a great day!
No one said a damn word about your phone. I said my phone doesn't and people at work have witnessed it.

They are always listening.
I don't know what to tell you. Mine does not. I have tried it several times and nothing happens. Even the people at work are a witness to it.

It was clearly copied and pasted. Of course it reads like an ad.
Most phones don't even have a 3.5mm port these days...
People are just noticing this? Very late to the game lol

nah, my new samsung has that feature
Get a Mic Lock or a MySpyBlocker - plugs into the phone port if your phone is old enough, 3.5mm jack
Duh... if there is any question watch "The Social Delimma"

Can Facebook listen to you if you don't have Facebook, or don't have a phone?
If you do have a phone, and the phone has Facebook, Can Facebook listen to you from inside a Faraday cage?
The way I shop now is to yell what I want at my phone and wait for ads to pop up.
