Feckin' MN
Lol, I was thinking the same thing.
They didn't have Dominion back then LOL
My dad says he lost Minnesota on purpose to let Mondale keep a little dignity
Your comment is funny, AND a bit ambiguous. Your dad was RR?
AS ALWAYS!!!!...Dumb Asses...
Ethnic demographics were quite different too
They had placed G.H. Bush in as VP control was there.
This important to note. Country was as much as 80% white as late as the 90s.
It was before computers took over, making it easier to steal.
It was to big to rig for them. They did their usual fukery but it wasn't enough.
complete annihilation of Mondale, how humiliating. let's do the same to Comrade!
Mondale was Carters VP. A very unlikable personality, how he ever became a politician Ill never know (well maybe we do). But the mere fact he had Carters stench all over him was enough to sink even the most personable candidate. I can remember sitting in History class and the teacher had the radio on as the disaster in Iran with the special forces helos unfolded.
and he was kinda an outsider.
He wasn't. He was the governor of California when he ran. And even then, he already took a bullet and went on "with the program". The only reason people remember him fondly is because of tax cuts, jokes and that he was a Republican. Everything else pointed to him being a globalist pawn.
Trump is the only true outsider we've had since President Eisenhower. As matter of fact he is the first President that wasn't a politician or a general.
He was not Governor when he ran. Reagan was Governor from 1966 to 1970. He did not run for re-election.
Reagan ran in the Republican Primaries for 1976 but lost to incumbent Gerald Ford. He won the nomination in 1980 and then beat Carter to become President. Many think John Andersen, after losing the Republican Primary to Reagan, ran as a splitter candidate. Dirty tricks even then, but to no avail.
Jerry Brown was Governor of California from 1975 to 1983 for Reagans first two bids and the forgettable George Deukmejian was Governor for his third run.
I remember this stuff but its pretty easy to look it up too ;).
Interesting, I always assumed he went from Governor to President.
I remember him being the last Republican governor of Cali. I assumed this was early 1980's. The fact that he vacated the office in 1970 makes it even worse. They haven't had a Republican Governor for over 54 years. That's nuts
Nixon won with a higher percentage than Reagan in his reelection campaign. We know what the see eye eh did there, don't we?
I don’t remember Mondale looking like the picture shown.
picture looks younger ??
Yes, I don’t remember looking that young when he ran against Reagan.
probably just the meme maker...
👍
I thought I was going crazy. I didn't think Mondale was that young there. I guess he would have been around 55-56 at the time he got his ass handed to him by Ronnie.
And the only reason that Reagan didn't win Minnesota was because he didn't campaign there. He could've won all 50.
MN been gay for a long time
"I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience," - Ronald Reagan
When Mondale laughed at Reagan's joke... Mondale's campaign was over
Couldn't help himself, it was so funny...
Nope.
The Democrats have always cheated in elections, that election was just too big to rig and it wasn't as easy for the Left to cheat as it is now.
