I would prefer that it be mothballed for a decade or so because as sure as day follows night, the one thing you can count on is thieves, gangsters and politicians are attracted to big money. Like moths to a light they can't help themselves. If DOGE is not operable to keep them in line they will appear out of nowhere to try and grab as much as possible and the whole thing starts over. No. DOGE needs to be a permanent part of the government.
There are only 15 (I think) Departments in the Fed. Creating a real Department of Government Efficiency would require an Act of Congress. It would be on the level of creating Space Force as a 5th branch of MIL.
From what I've surmised, DOGE is a "consultancy" to the Fed, not an authorized government entity. They can make recommendations, but not sure how they are going to make actual cuts and who is funding it. They would have to make a regulation and either Congress passes a law based on it, or POTUS EOs the recommendation.

I like the philosophy... ...however, if there's one part of government that needs to exist forever, it's the part that keeps itself in check.
Another proof that we are looking at the 2 year mark to experience profound change. Trump also gave RFK two years to show big improvement and reduction in childhood chronic diseases. My guess is the first 2 years will be cleaning house and swamp - He will need to make sure he can trust his cabinet before moving on to step 2 of the plan. Then the next primary needs to wipe out the rinos, traitors and leftie loonies who most likely got their seats based on cheating (looking at you CA 👀)

Great! In my little country the Teachers Union have always had a sway on society! They are 'trusted'. We have the designed two party system; you know two wings one bird! I've always asked why doesn't the Teachers Union run for elections and change our Constitution and then leave! Our Constitution gives powers to ministers that make them untouchable! Changing these constitutional powers would destroy the two parties. No one would be interested in running for government if they could not enrich themselves! The Teachers Union leader always sells out to both political parties!
So it probably needs to said that government always overreaches. Sometime in the future a good teaming out will need to be done once again.
I just put that in my phone calendar can't wait.
