Ummm let me just shed some light on the USPS. I worked for them briefly. Those trucks had OVER 1 million miles on them. They had no AC, poor ventilation and workers have frequently died in them due to heat stroke. I have no idea about the new vehicles, but all I’m saying is that if they cared about their workers, they would have gotten updated trucks decades ago. The trucks were also frequently being worked on, causing some carriers to carry extra mail to help out on the routes. It’s a horrible organization that needs to be bulldozed and restructured. The waste of money on new hires and the subsequent ease of firing is asinine.
I’ve worked here for a couple decades and you are right. The general public can’t even fathom how poorly run this place is.
And to your last point, in the last couple of years we’ve hired probably 40-50 new hires and like 5 of them still work for us. Turns out that if you pay people $18 per hour for very physical work, tell them to run, skip their breaks, sacrifice safety for speed, work super long hours, and then treat them like a piece of human garbage on top of that, most people won’t tolerate it. And the people that do tolerate it, they fire because they didn’t run fast enough
They waste alot of money on starters too. My mail lady shuts off and restarts her truck at every single house in my neighborhood. She said they go through 100's of starters a year just at her hub. And shit tons of batteries too. They are not allowed to leave the drivers seat with the truck running in park. They are also only allowed to walk with a shoulder bag to deliver on foot on select streets.
Far less mail but far far more packages. When I started a couple decades ago we would literally have like a few parcels all day. Now we do 50-100 each and every day
I work for Ventra. And, we build the headlamps and tail lamps for the Ford Transit. Them two lines got pretty busy at the beginning of this year. We were told that was due to the USPS contract.

Funny how the parts of government specific to the constitution pay like crap and the rest are somehow protected. They have it backwards
They look as retarded as they are
at least $5000 windshield
Let DOGE handle this.

It looks like they have standup room which is good. I would rather they run on natural gas.
…and yet they are delivering far less mail than 10 years ago.

They can't deliver the mail right now this should be good.

Biden took the contract from workhorse and tanked them while giving it to Ford who utterly failed the contract. Money laundering.

So who got the contract?
No mail in the winter then.
Elon, Vivek, you have a lot of work to do. just in the USPS department.
Look for Trump to change the manufacturer to Tesla on 1/21/24. Then come in 95% below budget.
