Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Updoot for the Paul Harvey link. Another missed patriot. Merry Christmas fren!
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas 🎄 What you cooking for Christmas festivities? I’m already exhausted and have more to do tomorrow. It’s quickly reminded me just how much my mom did for everyone at Christmas. She absolutely loved decorating and cooking for the Christmas Eve family gathering.
Today I cooked peanut butter blossoms (pb cookie with Hersey kiss on top) and chocolate chip cookies. Tonight I’ve attempted to make my mom’s ice cream dessert. Oreo cookie crust, ice cream, chocolate fudge like on sundae & nuts. I don’t eat it but everyone else loves it. I don’t want anything in ice cream. For the out law (FIL calls us that, not In laws😀) side of my family I’m making PB pie for hubby & lemon pie. Whew, I gotta get back to eating meat and eggs!
Edit: I used to love Oreos and could blindly overeat them. I’ve had a 1/2 cookie and it wasn’t great. They also don’t smell good. My family and hubby’s eat lots of processed food. We used to and my daughter’s family eats healthier version of snacks (not a lot). It amazes me we ate that junk most of our lives. If we are going to eat off plan we try to cook it from scratch to know what we are eating.
My 7 year old granddaughter will come down (she lives behind me) to make her 'famous' Sticky Stuff pie again that she made for Thanksgiving. Since her Daddy and brothers loved it so much, we decided to make it again for Christmas. It's actually a chocolate icebox pie. Something she can pour in, mix and put in a graham cracker crust. So we're getting her started young in the kitchen. She kept calling it 'sticky stuff' so that's what we now call it. KEK!
Did you know you can make sourdough cookies with lard cream filling? I haven’t made these yet but I’m definitely going to later this week. They sound amazing! https://nitter.poast.org/ellavatehealth/status/1860073246026055949#m
Sourdough Oreo cookies…
I hadn’t thought of it. You can make basically anything with sourdough, I believe it’s the original baking method. I haven’t tried sourdough yet, it’s my goal to eventually do this so when I occasionally want bread, etc I can make it. My daughter has baked a lot of different things.
I remember a certain Q told us to track CEO resignations...

Nearly 2,000 American CEOs Quit In 2024, Setting New Record
Chief executive officers have exited from U.S. companies in 2024 at a greater pace than ever before, with businesses increasingly opting to appoint interim leaders as replacements, according to global outplacement company Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc.
As of November, 1,991 CEOs have departed from their companies, “the highest total on record,” according to a Dec. 20 report from the company.
Amid a jump in executive departures, companies were found to be appointing more interim leaders. Last year, interim replacements for CEOs were at seven percent, this year it has gone up to 13 percent.
Entities in the government/non-profit sector saw the highest number of exits year-to-date at 438 departures, followed by health care/products, technology, entertainment/leisure, financial, services, and hospitals.
State-wise, California topped the list with 223 CEOs departing, followed by New York, Texas, and Florida.
Besides stepping down, some of the top reasons executives gave for leaving their positions included retirement, pursuing new opportunities, or transitioning to a different position within the company.
Back in September, Andrew Challenger suggested that economic changes were a key factor for the rising number of exits.
Under his tenure, the company saw several quarters of revenue declines as well as net losses. Intel also failed to create any significant impact in the AI chip space during these years. Following Gelsinger’s exit from the company, Intel’s shares surged.
Earlier in March, Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun stepped down after the company got entangled in a scandal over quality issues.
A door panel of a Boeing plane blew off mid-air during a flight in January, triggering concerns about safety regulations followed by the company. This also attracted increased government scrutiny. In addition to Calhoun, two more senior Boeing executives resigned from their posts at the time.
In January, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares left his post following disappointing sales numbers in North America.
According to a report by leadership advisory company Russell Reynolds Associates, more companies are appointing CEOs from within their business than from outside. The report analyzed data from leading global stock indexes.
“Globally, of the 178 CEOs appointed in 2023, 77 percent were internal hires,” it said while adding that such appointments had hit an “all-time high” last year.
The trend is driven by several factors, including views that an internal candidate is lower risk and lower cost and that such promotions are “more likely to inspire and encourage current staff.”
“Additionally, boards want to send a message that they have been doing their job by constantly and effectively planning for successions. This means unplanned emergencies as well as systemic future planning have been effectively prepared for.”
Internally appointed executives were found to have served 1.4 years longer on average. In addition, external hires were more likely to be fired from their posts, the report said.
This should be a separate post. Great find!
Alot of CEOs are just frontmen, and mostly backed by someone powerful, such as Blackrock/Vanguard. They can't just install anybody for their public companies. Their control is toxicating and totalitarian imo.
Well, it looks like Odysee is turning into a ghost town. Several weeks ago, videos uploaded to YouTube ceased to automatically be reposted on Odysee. At least for smaller channels. Bigger channels somehow continued to have their videos posted. Tim Pool, Salty Cracker, The Quartering, RK Outpost, Paul Joseph Watson... Then 3 days ago the uploads ceased. I guess that's it now.
I really like Odysee, but the buffering can be annoying. I like how it appeals to a larger audience: gaming, Linux, and more. Angry Video Game Nerd, Internet Historian, Game Sack, Zuby, Count Dankula, and many more have channels on Odysee. I really don't care for Rumble. I don't like how it's set up, or how notifications are regulated to annoying email notifications. If someone replies to your comment, you have to go to that video and scrolll and scroll until you find your comment. But it seems like the big names are supporting Rumble. Jimmy Dore, Salty Cracker, Redacted, and so many more. But Rumble is pretty much 99% politics, which is why I have tried to support Odysee more. It seems that a lot of content providers like Salty Cracker and Geeks & Gamers had promoted Odysee, but they seem to have given up on the platform.
Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on?
As more and more videos are allowed to be uploaded in alt platforms like Rumble and some even in YouTube, unfortunately places like Odyssey will be left on the wayside. Free market at work :(
Rumble is too political for me. Odysee is really the only direct competitor.
Not only is Rumble too political, but it is too right-wing. Half of the channels I listed above wouldn't go to Rumble because it's nearly a right wing echo chamber. David Pakman is a cock gobbler, but I am glad to see him on Odysee. Although I imagine maybe he's given up on Odysee at this point. I think that Destiny guy is on there.
The problem is that too many creators who created channels on Odysee, got lazy with the synching system, and probably aren't even aware that their content isn't getting mirrored on Odysee anymore.
The only other "viable" platform is BitChute, which I prefer to call "Shit Show" because that's all it essentially is. Look at the comments section of X22 Report on Rumble and compare it to that on BitChute. The latter is atrocious.

Speaking of Rumble,I just heard today (from Dave X22 I think) that Tether recently bought Rumble. I wonder what will happen now.
Some suggested "Done in 30" meant 30 months, but we all know the White House wasn't secured in 2020, it definitely wasn't the "final stage."
Done in 30 could also suggest the three events will occur in a 30 day period, not necessarily beginning from December 21st
Another way to look at it could be 30 months starting from inauguration. Taking 30 months to clean house seems quite a long time. Maybe 30 days?

I'm leaning towards 30 days...but, who knows 🤔
God Bless you my frens. Merry Christmas.

Let's face it, Charlie Brown. We all know Christmas is a commercial racket. It's run by a big, Eastern syndicate, you know!
Shower thought on “People still wearing masks..”
Did these people commit crimes, avoid getting caught at the time, and now they’re wearing masks in public to continue trying to avoid being caught by facial recognition?
The other option was that they were traumatized, and never got the command to stop, so the programming just keeps going…
Has anyone tried to address any of these people?
I think I keep hearing, “Why do you fear?” when I walk past them…
