There are clarifying references with just digging a little bit. There were actually 75 trucks that indeed stopped in Sacramento and had a quick safety inspection and continued on their way. Its all there. There is no smog test being done let alone are they or would they be held up due to it.
Why would they need to be inspected at all?
If they are qualified to act as fire fighting equipment in another state, why are they not automatically qualified in Calif?
I bet the equipment coming up from Mexico doesn't have to go to Sacramento first, then back down to So Cal.

Yes, every two years we have to pay and pass smog tests. But not just any location; they have to be certified businesses by the state. Just another way to feed the beast system.

In Washoe County NV we have to smog yearly BUT it's just our county. The surrounding counties to include the capital don't smog at all. Make that make sense!
I could never live there. All my cars get immediately all emissions deleted besides PCV, tuned, cold air intake, and louder mufflers as soon as I own them. I get more power AND better mileage without the engine breathing out thru a straw and gagging on its own exhaust.
in the long run it might be for the best... if Oregon sends its fire trucks to California, the terrorists will obviously just start fires in Oregon when the defenses are down.

The original story I saw said the trucks needed an 'inspection' before they would be allowed to continue onto So Cal.

Had a friend who lived in Washoe Valley. Fires around Reno smoked in the whole area.
