It shouldn’t matter if they’re driving. Them just being in the country is a felony. I hate that we feel the need to pass a bunch of other laws because the ones we have aren’t being enforced.
I agree, but that said deeper layers of law should also be explicitly closed off so that instead of a single line of defense, a single law, but we have is a series of laws which are all supporting each other all the way down the line
DUIs are almost always illegals. This needs to pass.
Illegals have scummed up the west, they need to be gathered up and kicked the f' out ASAP.
Churches and employers facilitate illegal entry into the USA, for cheap labor and membership numbers.
It takes at least 4 mexi's to do equal work to a hard-working white guy - seen this time after time.
Language barriers put job site safety in the toilet.
Deport every last one, and fine/jail anyone harboring or helping them thrive here.
This. For whatever reason the catholic church is a big player on this. They even have their NGOs in other countries and along the way to facilitate the law-breaking.
Personally I would take their tax-exemption away and arrest their people onsite if they are found to be helping (money, transportation, safe-houses, directions, etc.) anywhere along the routes they take.
Technically, they are banned from being in any state in the union, but politicians have made them feel so welcome that they now have more rights than citizens.
Remember, we’re talking about Wyoming. The numbers are lower there. Once the big ops start in the sanctuary cities, those not yet caught may start self-deportation.
Please do this in Tennessee. I've seen cars flipped over and one crashed his family while drunk in a tunnel and fled the scene. I'm terrified to drive!
You can't prove a negative. If they are here legally, they can produce a U.S. passport or birth certificate, just like every citizen has to do to get a license or legally work here.
Absolutely, when I went to turn in my valid AZ driver's license for a UT driver's license, I was unable to get it without providing my birth certificate. I had to drive back home to retrieve it from moving boxes. I was so freakin mad my wife had me pull over so she could drive.
Interesting. I've never had that happen, and I've moved in my life between MD, TX, VA, TX, MO, FL, and TX (in that order). The cool thing is I still have the same TX DL# from the very first time I moved there. I may have had to provide my birth certificate when I turned 15.9 in MD to get my learner's permit but that was a long time ago and I don't remember having to do that.
Maybe it is an Arizona thing. It could be a modern thing, but I did move from FL to TX in 2020 and didn't have that requirement then. Maybe it is the new real-id requirement now (that has been around for like a decade but kept being pushed out over and over)?
I like the idea of this, but I don't think it can stand. States by law have to recognize driver licenses from all states. If this stands, concealed carry reciprocity will end up in court for this very reason. States will say if they can deny DLs they can deny concealed licenses, or even airline-checked guns in locked cases that are allowed by law. There would also be no legal way of proving an illegal is driving unless they break a law or wreck - or have one of those DLs that call it a "privilege card". Some states just issue regular driver licenses to illegals. God forbid if they start profiling drivers. All fake news will be there 24/7.
Wyoming really needs to tap the brakes on this and review what they have, possibly bringing actual good lawyers in to review so WY knows what they will have to defend in court when the lawsuits come.
Probably because until other states call them out on it, the Federal law is the law. WY needs to sue those states, and ask for relief to deny those licenses while the case progresses. Until then, they are just as bad as the states that allow the illegal licenses - both sides are breaking the federal law.
My take on it is, if Leftist states can blatantly reject Federal laws regarding aiding and abetting along with federal gun laws, why would a conservative state go along with them?
Let the Leftists take the Red state to court and let it all come out that the Leftists are the ones violating Federal law.
Leftist states pick and choose which Federal laws they want to follow, let those states sue Red states and prove in court they are correct.
Yeah - I'm not saying I don't agree with you. Good point about flipping who sues who, but that's what it will have to come to. I'd just rather the red states not break the laws just because the blue states are. The reds should be in court as we speak getting an injunction against illegals driving. Instead they are wasting time with a law they surely know won't stand. This is the stuff that drives me nuts.
At the bare minimum, they should give Ken Paxton a call and he can guide them. I think most red AGs would agree he is the best at going after the leftists, and when he has a multi-state coalition he can't be beaten.
I think the WY law is the wrong way to go about this because bad things unrelated to driving could happen as a result. Get it into court, win, let the appeals start, get an injunction while the appeals play out, and get a ruling from SCOTUS that illegals may not drive or have licenses. I'd rather SCOTUS strikes down all state illegals driving licenses than strike down the WY law and have to wait for some other state to repeat the process.
Unfortunately, since conservative states didn't go to court immediately, and because the Obama administration encouraged blue states to willfully break Federal law, we are where we are.
I would love to see this go to the SCOTUS, so it can be decided once and for all.
This is what more red states need to do.
If Leftist states can refuse to recognize a CCW from another state, then why can't states refuse to recognize driver licenses given to illegals?
It shouldn’t matter if they’re driving. Them just being in the country is a felony. I hate that we feel the need to pass a bunch of other laws because the ones we have aren’t being enforced.
I agree, but that said deeper layers of law should also be explicitly closed off so that instead of a single line of defense, a single law, but we have is a series of laws which are all supporting each other all the way down the line
If we actually enforced US 1324, other laws would be completely unnecessary.
Kind of like making more laws against murder, doesn't really make it any more illegal than it already is.
Short answer is they can.
Because there are actually federal laws requiring states to recognize DLs from the rest of the states. Not so much for CCWs - yet.
Driver licenses were handed out in clear violation of existing federal law.
Why should any state be forced to be party to that violation of federal law?
US 1324 more than covers handing out driver licenses to illegals.
DUIs are almost always illegals. This needs to pass.
Deport every last one, and fine/jail anyone harboring or helping them thrive here.
Yup, US 1324 is already on the books, it is long past time that it actually be used.
Enough of this feel good bullshit.
Deport every last fucking one of them, and you won't have to worry about them driving on your highways and streets.
You can't deport all 40 million overnight, the operation will take years to complete.
This is a huge step towards actual law and order.
Yep and the more unwelcome they feel the faster they'll self-deport as well saving us the trouble, especially once the free shit is cut off.
That is another key thing that needs to happen.
Once you start charging officials with US 1324, the money will dry up quickly.
I also think we should pit a 100% tax on any remittance payments.
Better yet, start charging the NGO grunt workers for harboring, assisting and concealing illegals with a felony and it will stop fast...
Good. This will push them towards the blu cities. They will be easier to round up.
Who is this Wyoming Bill guy, and how do we get more?
Driving? Aren’t they banned from just being in Wyoming? Where TF do we draw the line?
Technically, they are banned from being in any state in the union, but politicians have made them feel so welcome that they now have more rights than citizens.
This bill, if and when it becomes law, will be moot by the end of the month due to all the illegals being gone.
You actually think you can deport 40 million people that quickly?
Remember, we’re talking about Wyoming. The numbers are lower there. Once the big ops start in the sanctuary cities, those not yet caught may start self-deportation.
Yes, the numbers are low overall, but there are a bunch in Jackson because it is run by Democrats.
There is even one Sheriff that refuses to cooperate with ICE detainers.
"Hold My Beer"
Love Wyoming.
Make it a felony. Then deport.
Please do this in Tennessee. I've seen cars flipped over and one crashed his family while drunk in a tunnel and fled the scene. I'm terrified to drive!
Yea-a-a-a-ah I think that one is gonna lose. The federal government handles interstate commerce, so I don't believe this will fly.
Being an illegal alien is already against federal law.
Harboring or abetting an illegal is also against federal law.
The states that have issued these licenses have done so in direct violation of federal law.
If we had a real federal govt, these states would have been stripped of federal funding the moment they began issuing driver licenses.
Perfect 👌
Chit I bet Liz C is piss
The question is, how do you prove they are illegal?
You can't prove a negative. If they are here legally, they can produce a U.S. passport or birth certificate, just like every citizen has to do to get a license or legally work here.

Now I'm curious. Anyone else have this issue?
Illegals will not have a Real ID.
Hire them to put up some drywall

Yes, there are laws about recognizing driver licenses from other states.
But those DLs given to illegals violate existing federal law about aiding and abetting illegal aliens.
So, why would one state be forced to recognize something that was done in clear violation of long established federal law?
Probably because until other states call them out on it, the Federal law is the law. WY needs to sue those states, and ask for relief to deny those licenses while the case progresses. Until then, they are just as bad as the states that allow the illegal licenses - both sides are breaking the federal law.
