The rock that Jesus built his church upon was FAITH.
A church without priests? No intercessors? Empty buildings? Not sure how your proving why Peter was the first head of the universal church did anything but prove the need for the universal church. When everyone relying on themselves for decisions about scripture and our best path, well, we get feels (Satan loves that, which he can manipulate easily, which is why saints and theologians insist we use LOGIC not FEELINGS in determining what is right and just), and that nasty corrupt woman pushing LGBTQ in front of the country. There's reasons Jesus told Peter to care for His FLOCK. Sheep.
I said nothing about priests. I am referring directly to the pope. Peter was simply called out by Jesus for his faith. (Christianity is about faith, just as Judaism is about following the law.) (And, as a reminder, Peter later denied Christ three times.)
So, Jesus is telling us that he's building his church from the rock of Faith, that Faith which Peter displayed by his recognition of God's chosen Son. There was no formal, organized, religious hierarchy until Constantine came onto the scene. This is when the believers in Christ went from actively being involved in the church via prayer and worship in each other's homes with everyone worshipping as equals, to being spectators in the pews behind a railing that symbolically separated the people from direct access to God. We have the perfect Jesus himself to intercede for us. How can any fallible human even begin to come close to that perfection?
We also have God's Word in the form of scriptures. It is there for us to read, to consider, and to understand. Do you honestly think God would give us scripture without also giving us the ability to understand it? We are, after all, made in the very image of God. If there is something that one does not understand, they should take it to God in prayer. God will give you the answer directly if you but ask Him -- as any good father would answer the questions of his children.
The very fact that there is so much corruption within organized religion should make one stop and consider whether this is truly the path God wants us to follow. I say no. Organized religion, as we have today, is where Satan is presenting himself as an Angel of Light.
Do not be deceived. Do not confuse organized religion with a personal relationship with God. They are not the same thing, fren.
There is but one, single thing we must do to be saved. Everything else springs from this:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
It's really and truly that simple.

I'm not Catholic, but if I were, I'd demand this guy succeed Francis once the current loser is outed and deposed.
I'm Catholic and I couldn't think of a better person to take over the role of Pope than Vigano. However this is unlikely since Vigano was excommunicated by the current commie Pope, for completely asinine reasons. Meanwhile, monsters like Cardinal McCarrick who violated boys and the sacraments is not excommunicated, only laicized. God sees all, and all evil deeds will be punished.
While I know what excommunication is, is it at all possible to be reversed?
Yes, it can be, but the Pope would have to lift the excommunication from Vigano in his case. Probably wouldn't happen since he's the one who made the decree in the first place. I'm not sure if it's possible the next Pope can remove it, but it would make sense if he could.

No I heard this from an interview with someone (forget his name but he's verified to have worked at the Vatican close to the Pope at the time) who was there when the Pope at the time read it, I believe 1972/77.
The point is that the Roman Catholic Church was started by Constantine of Rome when they realize they couldn't kill enough Christians to defeat Christianity, so instead they did one better and co-op did it.
Christ's teachings have been so grossly perverted with "doctrine" that it's a shell of what His TRUE teachings were.

That's basically all I know. If you search around you can find this podcast style interview with this guy that was basically an assistant to the pope or something like that. He finally spells it out because he gets sick of all the lies surrounding the third Fatima prophecy secret.
And hey why wouldn't the CC lie? It basically prophesies the end of "Big Church". The way he describes it, (it can be inferred) that there's basically some major event/revelation (Kek) that wakes up And disenfranchises all but 4–6% (Kek again) of the Catholic congregation worldwide.
I suspect that the big reveal will be the human/child trafficking and sacrifice. It will be dark. And only 4-6 percent will be able to focus on the faith and not the institution, AND be able to remain Catholic in public.
