I'm a Lutheran and I stopped giving to the church because of their support of illegal aliens. I have mercy for people but respect for our laws and sovereignty as a nation.
I was raised Lutheran, was an acolyte as a young teen, and was heavily involved in church activities in Miami until my parents moved us to Ctrl FL and I got to see how other Lutheran churches do things. I have wasn't impressed and ultimately left the church and never went back to organized Christianity. Especially after coining to the realization that we don't need middlemen between us and God and Jesus.
A lot like my story, was an Elder in the Missouri Synod. Stopped going after to church after a sexual scandal with our Pastor. My faith in the church was diminished, but my faith in God was made stronger. Don't need the middleman.
When the USSR fell I worked for a moving company. For about a year, half our work was moving eastern European immigrants. Lutheran charities were donating furniture.
Fun fact: In Denmark majority identify as Protestants and they have a National church everyone pays 1% of their tax money into (unless they exclude themselves). That National church is the Lutheran Church. Almost no one ever goes except for Christmas and to use it freely for baptisms, weddings, funerals etc. I have attended as a child and it is the most dry watered down sermons you could imagine. I was both baptized and confirmed. Went to Sunday school for a few years but practically grew up an atheist not knowing God or even having the desire to find him. I truly believe the churches design is to suck the life out of you so you have no energy left for God. Hence people in Denmark may claim to be Christian’s but none of them can back it up.
There's a lot of that - globally. Watered down services, almost ZERO attendance and claiming to be a christian when they live a very non christian life.
Edit: actually, I deported myself. Over $400,000 in consulting, lawyers, advocates, application fees, and downright blank check gifts to foreign nations. Hopefully here in a couple weeks I will officially have residency in the EU (in probably one of the last remaining good tax residencies in the world)
The Lutheran church is divided into LCMS and LCA. LCA is the “woke” version who is controlling the Lutheran social services. The LCMS started a different version non woke.
I wouldn’t call LCA an actual church of God. Sorta like the Pope’s version of the Catholic Church.
I’d like to know too? I assume the LCMS is involved. They refuse to take a stand on using aborted fetal cells in vaccine manufacturing. They no longer apply God’s word to current life situations. They lost control of their universities. Pastors no longer discuss abortion and homosexuality in the pulpit and more. It’s sad seeing a church go down hill so fast
Are we about to find out the false church has been facilitating child sex trafficking? That’s a LOT of $$$ for kids they have no idea where ended up. I wonder if this is why POTUS sat through that awful sermon with that activist lesbian church leader - to expose them..!
I will start believing that all these disclosures are more than just a smoke screen when I see someone important who was involved in this massive horrific child abuse on the way to prison.
Is this telling us more than we already knew? Maybe I am just being cynical.

I’m leaving the ECLA
The East Coast Livestock Association?
Agreed.
I was raised Lutheran.
I left the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod for the exact reasons you state.
I am still a Christian, just so I'm clear. I just left that particular instutition.

It's actually ELCA. Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. And yes, they are very liberal.
The moderates are the LCMS. Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. These are the ones who have remained consistent with the scriptures.
There are also the WELS. Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Uber conservative...so much so they often refuse to pray with other Lutherans.
There are a few other Lutheran denominations, as well.
Wait, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod DOESN'T do this?
Serious question, that's what my longtime church was part of.
Did I make a mistake by leaving?

Foster Care Taxpayer money spent: $5,246,578,606.34
That's only PART of the data -- it maxed out at 100 records. (See top right corner)
