Why would he say that? He's not stupid, and saying that would be as good as an admission of guilt. So why admit to that before he actually got exposed?
Without more info this sounds fake. Would be nice to see the actual source, like where he says it, to whom he says it, a clip of him saying it or at least who exactly tells that he said it so that person heard him say it.
