I'm not a little baby holding my hand out for a piece of candy, falling all over myself with gratitude, I'm wanting to put the pieces back together for my family's security. I know how much reimbursement is actually needed to help that along. I hope that Trump will state that older persons on SS and disability will receive a check also. People who are such low income that they are not "tax-payers"! We have all been reamed by corruption and attempted genocide and had our hearts broken by cruel policies. If not us personally then those close to us.
5K is worth 2K these days to be brutally honest. So on top of 5K I would ask for NO income tax and capital gain tax so we can freely trade in crypto without worrying about giving almost half to the govt
I don’t want a one time refund. I want my taxes drastically cut, permanently. Then, moving forward, a very low tax percent (I mean really low) set across the board, for all citizens, no matter what you make, with no one at the state or federal level ever being able to raise that very low percent. Keep your 5k and do something about the 50%+ that comes out of my check every two weeks to line the pockets of our filthy, thieving, corrupt, and degenerate federal government.
Taxpayers have been ripped off for years by government wasteful, overspending that created inflation, hurting millions of Americans and their purchasing power. I think giving back a few thousand is a nice gesture and can help a lot of good people scraping by. The debt will still be there and a few hundred billion won’t end the world.

Once all these idiots protesting what Elon and DOGE is doing get a check for 5000 out of nowhere, a lot of em are gonna stfu and maybe request they keep going. I think this is just a quick little way to turn the narrative and stimulate the economy just a tad on top of income taxes.
Think about that. One payment, to the taxpayer. As Trump said, could be a lot. Imagine if they found trillions in waste. We get a cut of 20% overall. Then when tariffs come in, we never pay income taxes again. Like, no more income taxes, and here’s a gift of $10,000, each. I think it’s very fair.
It looks to me like we are headed in the direction of a surplus. I don't mind citizens getting a bit of immediate remedy for what has been done to us with this money that has already been borrowed by the old system.

My family's hardships and loss since 2020 certainly far exceeded $5000.00. I think a larger amount should be sent to households.
