And they say its so small it doesn't make a difference. They said the same about the Trump tax cuts. $5000 to them wouldn't even pay for one outfit. For the regular people especially families it could be 3 or more months rent. I am believing the US will be free and we will get back what was stolen. And what is the bank going to do, foreclose?

Of course they wouldn't do this because they're hypocrites. What would be better would be to make a PUBLIC & searchable registry where they can register to refuse the refund. Pit their overwhelming urge to virtue-signal against their hypocrisy, see which wins.
Having talked with several friends, family and acquaintances about this, I have noticed the following general trend:
Those who are doing well financially, and don't need the cash, would prefer it go to pay down the debt.
Those who are barely scraping by and behind on rent, want the cash now.
I don't think the people saying No are against DOGE. This is just a standard problem of how money should be used when you have any large group of people with disparate needs and values. They aren't virtue signalling, they aren't interested in donating money, and it isn't hypocrisy. They want everyone to prioritize paying down the debt, because honestly that is what is better for them.
I think this idea of a refund is Trump team’s latest way of showing just how money hungry the congress critters are, and how unwilling they are to give us a break. Remember Trump saying that we should get a tax holiday because of Covid and piglosi lost her damn mind over it. Well, jasmine Crockett is doing the same thing.
A balanced budget amendment! Get rid of all spendthrift Congressional Representatives! Marxists-democrats & sell out rinos!

Need clarification if DOGE numbers are just last fiscal year’s budget. Think about that. How much tax payer money have they stolen? Say 10 years, 20 years…50 years
The DOGE numbers aren't historical, they are current. The magnitude of the theft is stunning.
They stopped the money that we've been told about and now we want to divide it amongst ourselves. If we do that, there is no savings and we become accomplices to the crime.
I plan on informing all the shitlibs I talk to that they can donate 100% of their $5k to any cause They want. I live in Oakland. $5k can feed a lot of homeless people for quite a while. The covid check was made from printing money. Some went to producers, some went to those that produced nothing.
The refund check would not be from printing new money. It is money that will be taken from non producing parasites (ruling class) and handing it over to producers (taxpayer l).
