I read in Wikipedia that Steak & Shake had established one outlet in Seattle in 2016, but that it went out of business in 2020. The general picture is one of a chain that is facing chronic financial struggle.
I dropped peanut butter with seed oils over a year ago. All of my inflammation in my legs went away. It used to burn to squat down. I'm not overweight and couldn't figure out why I was having issues. Huge believer that seed oils cause problems. Hoping to see more chains adopt this.
Peter pan or Jif. Lol... I didn't know they were so bad... Just like I didn't know you could make your own flour at home.had to meet like minded people to get my stuff together. π
I bought the Costco one recently. Peanuts and salt. Have to refrigerate it though. Husband hates it. I made my own just from blending peanuts and adding honey. Sorry about that.
The peanut companies actually have their own house brands of peanut butter. Check the organic aisle in your super market for the clean peanut butter brands.
Beef tallow was pretty popular in use at restaurants in the 50s and 60s. Now you can't even find it in stores and when you can its $15 for a quart. Is it all being exported?
Serious health question, pedes: what is the best local source of clean oil, liquid oil (like to make mayonnaise, marinades, dressings) in the Carolina-Virginia areas? I'm working on stable sources of animal fats, but those are solid. Importing pricy avocado or coconut oil isn't sustainable. Peanut oil from Georgia? Can't trust corn oil?
This was from today and it was taken down today. Not sure why. I checked his "Secretary Kennedy" account to see if he moved it from his personal to his formal account and I didn't see it there. The quote in this post title was taken exactly from RFK Jr's post.
Shit, now I gotta find a Steak 'n' Shake near me... I long for those classic beef tallow fries.
My kids and I just stopped there in the way home tonight! I asked if they are using beef tallow and they said they *just started last Thursday
Edit: typo I'll blame the kids distracting me lol
Still started? Anon, elaborate ! Hehe movie!! πΏ

Meant to say NO Steak n Shakes here in MO are using Tallow yet.....There are still a few Steak n Shakes in the St. Louis area.
There's ONE in Seattle but it wouldn't be worth going downtown for me. Hopefully they'll expand more locations at some point!

If Mc Donald's returns to beef tallow, the stars will align and Jesus himself will walk down from the heavens and into a McDonald's drive thru... KEK!
Their fries have like 13 ingredients. They have a lot more issues than just the seed oil
A lot of that is in the cooking oil itself. Stabilizers, anti-foaming agents, etc. But I know what you mean, Fren.
Even their "salt" is a concoction of bad stuff, aluminum being one of the ingredients.

Jiff actually has their own Jiff Naturals version of Peanut Butter. They know that stuff is shit.
No what brand is safe?

Didn't McDonald's switch from tallow to vegetable within the last 10 years, not long before covid I think.
Never mind, they did that in 1990, it was some later reformulation that I was thinking of where they changed the "beef flavor"
Our Steak βn Shake was one of the casualties of 2020. I used to use Avocado oil but started cooking with tallow and OMG itβs a game changer!

Like the tallow but everything inside is thru kiosk ...which I can't navigate
Except their food is gross
Sauce is deleted?
Huh, weird. I checked his official account to see if he moved it over there and I don't see it.
Maybe Steak N' Shake backed out! LOL
