I wonder whom we are paying credit cards for. The ones that aren't employees. Are they politicians? Foreign delegates? Who really knows? Hopefully Trump, Musk, and Musk's team can get to the bottom of this.
And who is monitoring the cards to make certain the purchases are in line with what they can BUY?? I mean beside Musk and his team.
Cancel every damn card and follow the trail of purchases. I bet we find that all the government workers and their families, friends, judges have been living off our dime.
Members of the military above a certain rank, it's not very high, are issued a government travel card if they have any sort of travel. The GTC sits with the service member and any spending triggers a review by their direct supervisor. They are required to use the card to pay for all meals and whatever else for tracking purposes.
In 2023 they issued 3.9 Million of these cards to service members because they all had expired and had to be renewed.
People retire and quit and get fired. It's not like every government employee who has ever been hired is still working today.
And by personal experience, when they're no longer a government employee, their card gets deactivated.
It's no different from any other non-government business that issues business credit cards to their employees.
I would also take anything Musk says with a grain of salt. He's not God. He's not infallible. Personally, I don't trust him at all. I also don't believe something is true just because some random person I don't know typed something out on their Twitter/X account. But that's just me. 🤷♀️
If there have been 4.6 million credit cards issued since the credit card program was adopted by the government that would probably not be a problem. If there are 6 million credit cards active during any one year, that would definitely be a problem. I would not doubt the latter.
It's the US government. They're definitely using one credit card to pay off the other..
Maths is un democratic and raciss.
Also climate change and Putin somethin' somethin'.

I wouldn't be surprised if half of them have names like:
Carla Isabella Anderson
Nathaniel Steven Allen
Andrew Trevor Franklin
Issac Randolf Shaw
etc.
Love this comment!
not gonna lie, I was worried the joke would be a little too opaque...
No, I got it when I read it a second time, wondering, who ARE these people. Then, the initials.BOOOM!
i've been told i have a dry sense of humor, lol.
So illegal immigrants are government employees?!

the 2.2 supposedly does not include military, but we were not issued credit cards

“Well I’m gonna need one for my spouse too please”
There might be 2.2 million federal government employees, but not all of them would be issued government credit cards.
So, yeah ... seems like a problem.

So it's not enough taxpayers are paying interest on the multi trillions in debt, they're also paying interest on credit cards. Brilliant.
time to cancel them all
Does that include the military? They also get government issued credit cards.
This means we have 2.6 million credit cards making political contributions to the UNIPARTY.
To be fair - I have 3 for my company for different divisions I run.

They're just credit cards issued by CitiBank.
Don't let facts get in the way of some good ol' rage porn. 😒

But, you said it's not you, and you swore by that.
It's not me!
What if all CC are from one bank ? lol

2.2 million too many employees.
