Tombstone was his best role. " I'm your huckleberry " is one of the greatest lines ever. Sounds like what a child would say and he delivered it like a stone cold killer. He nailed the ending too.
He was good in Heat too, which was also a good flick.
Sad to see him go, but he was suffering. Wish he would've tried the protocols offered many times here. May he rest in peace.
I just watched Real Genius a few weekends ago! I bought it on DVD 12 years ago but finally watched it. I hadn't seen that movie since I was in high school.
I was shocked at his last appearance on a TV show. He could only wear a large kimono. I guess his medication caused him to swell up like a blimp. The tribute documentary was awesome and heartfelt. It was our goodbye from him while he could look into the camera. Anyone curious go and see it. It will bring back memories and sceans you will never have seen on films you watched growing up. They are amazing. ""All those memories like tears in the rain"". I know that's from Rutger Howard, but the sentiment fits.
You mean it wasn't Bruce Wayne?? Lol I grew up watching him as Batman so those are my fond memories. Tombstone was a great movie that I enjoyed as I got older.
Such an underrated masterpiece. D’Onofrio is stellar as always along with Kilmer. The music the cinematography the writing just all top notch. I think it’s criminal that so few know about it, it hasn’t even received a blu ray release.
Mine as well I was in my early 20s when it came out. I was so excited when the show came out, it was awful, probably worse than the new Snow White movie. I watched all the episodes I kept waiting for it to get good, you know how some shows are they have rocky beginnings and then get better, this never did.
He also had his cancer gone and pneumonia under control and "suddenly" started having issues again after 2020. Maybe someone around here can tell me why an American icon that can afford the best health care would be on the mend and "suddenly" have a plethora of his health issues return in the last three years... what could it be? 🤔
No, no, no. Re Top Gun - the 'homoerotic' insults that the guys were doing was a form of intimidation, frat style. Young, fit, aggressive ego-driven narcissistic guys who are competing as they were in the movie, talk like this to each other as a form of one-upmanship. My two now-adult kids who were both very athletic and academic and were in Greek Life could explain this to you.
Re Tombstone - the character's sickness was Tuberculosis in the movie. But if you mean Val himself, he didn't fall ill with cancer until nearly 21 years after Tombstone. He also married, divorced and fathered two kids. Nowhere has 'AIDS' ever been hinted about Val, nor any talk about him being anything but straight.

Well said.
I wish the script only had him say the line once. The second time at the end wasn't needed.
RIP Val. I'll always associate him with Top Secret. Hilarious movie. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0088286/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_cdt_c_103
Skeet Surfin'! Also features a great tribute to East German Women's Olympic medalists!
Doesn’t get much better than Top Secret. An ageless classic!
The Pinto barely getting rear ended and exploding!
Real Genius.

Yes it does.
His best role was Doc Holiday in Tombstone.

Nah, Michael Keaton was the one and only Batman, as far as I'm concerned. Exception made for Donald Trump, of course.
I was too little to understand the Keaton Batman movies, but I did like them when I got older. Even with weirdo Tim Burton 😂
He was better in “Salton Sea”.
I didn't see it. I'll put it on the list.
Another favorite of mine is Tombstone where he played Doc Holliday.
Oh, yes that was amazing. I forgot about that one.

Rest in peace Madmartigan your fight is over.
Another one of my favorite movies from childhood :-D

That makes me sad. Yeah, I avoided it b/c of the reports of rampant DEI stuff. I didnt' want it tarnishing my image of the movie from childhood.
The Saint was one of my favorites and of course Top Gun.🥰 RIP
LOOOOVED The Saint, such a fun film.
He was excellent in Thunderheart. RIP Val.
I will always know him as the voice of Moses from The Prince of Egypt. He had a wonderful voice.
May God grant him eternal peace and rest.

He played Jim Morrison perfectly, imo, in the Doors movie.
One of the best, sad day.
You're a daisy if ya do, and we are all your huckleberries, sir! Godspeed... 🙏🏻
The Saint....
Didn't he also play Aragorn in LOTR???
No. That was Viggo Mortensen.
Okay, gotcha. I knew the actors name started with a V.
Iceman was trying to recruit Maverick to the gay side if you catch the homosexual undertones of Top Gun. He was also dying from AIDS in Tombstone.

Probably a pedo satanist just like all of the rest. None of them are good.
