That's going to harm critical thinking/analysis skills. College is more than just inputting data into minds. But I agree about the trades, they're going to make a comeback in a big way.
Who is going to teach the elite physics, calculus, biology, chemistry, statistics, economics, etc then? You can't just have a dumb shit country full of farmers, plumbers, and welders. How do you think tanks and fighter jets and computers are engineered?
My cousin just rehabbed his first home, for himself. It was a serious fixer upper, but he knew he could do a lot of the work and save money, plus have instant equity. He did hire a plumber, and two electricians. He's a friendly guy and he got talking to the guys and found out they are making BANK. Not only did they charge a very high hourly rate, they each owned rental properties and do flips. One of them has a lake house. They are both self employed. It was quite the eye opener for my cousin, who recently graduated in a white collar field. One of the reasons he bought a cheap house was because he DOES have a pretty big school loan debt.
Tradesmen will always be necessary. Everybody needs a plumber, an HVAC guy or an electrician at least once in a while. If a person is inclined toward that type of career, they can do very, very well for themselves.
Alot of people overlook the trades.... Even anons....if there are "blue collar jobs" that NEED to be done but everyone else is working for someone else or in college, where does that leave the individuals that take chances and jump into it? I can tell you from experience, there's so much money out here waiting to be made if individuals simply figure it out. What needs to happen is that individuals need to gain some experience and then start their own businesses since no one else wants to do it.
This is literally another trick by the deep state.... To demonize career fields where you can literally own the businesses and make huge bank but then encourage you to work for someone else your entire life. As someone who went the college route, I can confidently say that unless you went to school for STEM (which generally gets treated like the trades anyway), you are wasting your time and money.
All three guys I mentioned were self employed. One man operations. They can set their hours, take days off, etc. and still do great. I actually had a long talk with my cousin about this because he was so surprised to find out how much they were making (and he believed it, especially based on what they charged him) it was very eye opening for him. Agreed, so many "intellectuals" look down on those guys, but the guys are doing so well I doubt they care.
Your point was valid back when Universities really taught real knowledge that you couldn't get elsewhere. It's maybe still valid today in select areas.

I did that a few times, leapfrogging after 3 or more years then there was no Income Tax on the profits... Not sure if thats true these days.
