Its also a sign of intelligence to understand truth is immutable and facts change. They are not synonymous. If you can't recognize an immutable truth then you may abandon it at great peril. Truth is hard won and only a fool would toss it out. Constantly changing leaves you open to manipulation if you can not find the foundational truth and stay put on it. The double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
"There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."
--- Will Rogers
I've had to change most of my political views twice in my life--once when I went from leftist to conservative, and again from conservative to Trump nationalist.
This is why I second-guess myself so often, always wondering if I'm really making the right decision.
The truth; like Morpheus said is that we accept the world with what we are presented with! I went from leftist ideologies; what they said; to Libertarian ideology, what they said; to conservative ideology; what they said to conservative ideology; what he did! We have all been sold dreams, we are blessed to have Patriots doing what they said!

Proverbs 1:7
Yup.
PROV 1:7:
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
PROV 5:15:
"A fool despises his father’s instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent."
Truth is just the currently accepted compilation of facts as we understand them.
How many millennia did the Sun travel around the Earth ?
Truth is just the hardest "immutable" part of reality to change your mind about.
Not one. Truth exists independently of people's opinions.
But the "Truth" they believed and spread did exist for millennia , but was incorrect.
Just as today most believe the Earth circles the Sun.
I always thought wisdom was the key not intellect. But whether I am right or wrong, I fully believe this statement.
Wisdom is a consequence of experience.
Not everyone requires experience to to learn.

This is ONE of the VERY REASONS why I come on this board EVERY DAY!!!!!!
ONE Outstanding Reply...and Will Rogers at that...Makes it even better!!!!!
Proverbs 1:7
it's crazy when people accuse me of being close minded when I USED to believe the opposite but then found truth...
i tell them show me the proof and I'll believe what they WANT to believe but very few even try.

Changing your mind is like changing underwear. Especially if it is full of crap.
And like politicians , all should be changed regularly and for the same reasons.
I've had to change most of my political views twice in my life--once when I went from leftist to conservative, and again from conservative to Trump nationalist.
This is why I second-guess myself so often, always wondering if I'm really making the right decision.
Have Faith , trust yourself, the higher connection has always been available.
"Neither shall men say, Lo here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you". --Luke 17 :21 --1599 Geneva
This gives me great comfort.

What about the opposite? Holding to one's belief in the face of adversaries and controlled media opinions.
Also a sign of intelligence if you can back it up with facts.
Says the atheist :D
Kinda wish this dynamic was more applicable to more people here........ (lot of people here will have a rough time in the near future as a result...)
You can argue with an opinion, but when dealing with a conviction, you should use a bullet.
