Finland should have never been allowed to even join NATO before they have backpaid 2% of GDP of the last 70+ years they have been freeriding without paying fair share of NATO.
It’s partly the Euros being Europeans and introducing a shitload of regulations.
And partly the American Healthcare system and Pharma companies are fleecing us because they can. And few in the U.S or State Government willing to confront them or stop them.
Seriously some of the Drugs they’re charging 10-15k for. They make in mass for pennies on the dollar.
Yes. Because the Europeans and Canadians regulate the shit outta them and put caps on how much they are allowed to charge.
Which they then use as justification to fleece us for every penny they can get. And justify it as covering R&D and other expenses. When in reality they can and do make most of their shit for pennies on the dollar.
But the shareholders need their fix of seeing a line go up and the CEOs 5th Vacation McMansion and 4th Yacht won’t pay for themselves.
They do it because they can. That’s the simple truth of the matter. Everything else is rhetoric to sell political and Economic talking points and ultimately justify their behavior.
The Mexicans aren’t paying as much as we do. Central Americans don’t pay as much as we do. Neither do North Africans. The Chinese don’t. Many Asians don’t.
Are we subsidizing all of them too? Or is it the companies just taking advantage to fleece us for all they can because they know there’s no one who will say no.
No company is taking advantage of Americans to fleece you. It's the European and Canadian parasites that cause the high prices. Somebody has to pay the bill, there is a reason why 1 month supply of Ozempic costs $1000 in the USA and only $60 in Europe.
Besides that the medicine is produced by a Swiss company in Switzerland.
The recent narrative on here is putting me off severely. It's as if a lot of people here are becoming increasingly crazy. They feel they "pay" for everything and everyone.
Come on over to Europe. We have plenty of companies who make money. We pay out of our ears and noses for health care. Nothing is free.
It would go too far here to describe the differences between the healthcare systems in Germany and the US. That is why I would like to focus here on just a few logical gaps in the argument.
Do you know of a single corporation, not just in the pharmaceutical industry, that would not extract everything it possibly could from its customers? Even without extensive medical knowledge, my conclusion is that Big Pharma in the US, for whatever reason, CAN charge immensely higher prices there than in Germany, for example. That is not the fault of Europeans! I don't think that their corporations in Europe are not making any profits, and American drugs are certainly not offered here at lower prices than in the US out of philanthropy!
In the interview, J.D. Vance applies balm to the American soul. Why open another can of worms on the home front when there is such a convenient culprit to blame?
The problem are the middle men. Trump in his first term tried to do something about it. It's difficult.
Besides this, the insurance companies set the pricing but they are not doing a good job at it, probaby because of bonusses and other incentives. There appears to be severe conflicts of interests.
From watching Asmongold, I know in the US, you do not actually have to PAY the bill. You can typically claim to not be able to afford it and your medical bill will be greatly reduced.
Also, let's not pretend healthcare is free in Europe. I have paid well over 180k EUR for healthcare in my career so far. I have only ever needed one hospital visit. I could have easily paid the actual costs of that from that money.
The U.S. will likely have to help Finland survive in a life-or-death fight some day.
Or... perhaps we won't.
Finland should have never been allowed to even join NATO before they have backpaid 2% of GDP of the last 70+ years they have been freeriding without paying fair share of NATO.

Seriously some of the Drugs they’re charging 10-15k for. They make in mass for pennies on the dollar.
Americans pay more to subsidize cheaper prices in Europe and Canada.
Yes. Because the Europeans and Canadians regulate the shit outta them and put caps on how much they are allowed to charge.
Which they then use as justification to fleece us for every penny they can get. And justify it as covering R&D and other expenses. When in reality they can and do make most of their shit for pennies on the dollar.

Ozempic is toxic and making peopke blind. Let the Eurocucks get it cheap and keep it probitively expensive here so only celebrities go blind
Europe has been doing this shit to people for a long time.
Yep, for us Europeans you Americans are like slaves who fund our lavish socialist lifestyle entirely.
Not for long. Orange man has arrived
lol
While I don't know the true cost of the medicine, this post is misleading if not downright wrong.
The Kelan korvaus means that the government/taxpayer coughs up the 32k, and the user pays the remaining 76 cents.
It does not mean that the medicine got to Finland that cheap or that it was acquired at a (heavy) discount.
Besides that the medicine is produced by a Swiss company in Switzerland.
The recent narrative on here is putting me off severely. It's as if a lot of people here are becoming increasingly crazy. They feel they "pay" for everything and everyone.

Could Finland give that discount if it had to pay its own defense? America pays Finland's defense.
Don't be so desperate. Every year Finland has been in NATO at least 2% of their GDP has been spent on defence.
That number would be significantly higher if Finland had to pay its own defense and America wasn't protecting Finland.
It would go too far here to describe the differences between the healthcare systems in Germany and the US. That is why I would like to focus here on just a few logical gaps in the argument.

Wait... I don't understand how anyone would believe this bs.
Hemlibra is a treatment against hemophilia. The medicine is produced by Swiss company Roche.
There are ZERO Americans involved in this transaction.
And still Americans pay more to subsidize cheaper prices in Europe. Just like 1 month supply of Ozempic costs $1500 in the USA but only $90 in Europe.
Gee.... thanks for that! 🙄
Like anyone in this country has an actual say in the matter, besides not using pharma shit to begin with...
