As I know the problem with those loans in USA is filling for bankruptcy would not save you from those debts. It is wrong and unjust,it is essentially DEBT SLAVERY.

All those debts are about profits + universities paying salaries to lecturers. But if thing is useless really good question is shall it be funded at all. Kids are brainwashed from birth that college is the only option. How many kids understand how much money they are borrowing when they turn 18? Probably almost zero.
