"an automatic firmware update, applied simultaneously to a significant number of satellite nodes, is believed to have introduced an inconsistency in the internal GPS synchronization parameters. As a result, the satellites temporarily lost the ability to accurately determine their relative positions, which led to a failure in properly routing traffic between user terminals and ground stations.
This type of error does not physically damage the satellites or user antennas, but it triggers a cascading effect of reconnection attempts that can overwhelm the control and monitoring servers on the ground. In fact, a partial outage of the Starlink website and management app was also reported."
Ps. It seems to be coming back online for users now

Oh, this is very interesting. Okay this explains what I saw with my Starlink service. As you guys might know I have moved it to Malta, in the EU. Last night during the outage my Starlink app suddenly told me that my antenna up on the roof was out of alignment by 8°. A GPS error would definitely explain that.
I was one of the first in the world to get it back when I lived in NE Washington State. Truly changed my world. I went from pure bullshit hughesnet to 100 years into the future the day I first plugged that dish in 😂
Mobile StarLink is 2 minor tech steps from beaming ENERGY to cars. If you can beam data and hold signal on a moving car, then you trickle charge Teslas, with possible infinite range.
We have been waiting for the ten days of darkness. With all the news coming out on the Russiagate treason they might be probing for a way to take down the net.
Been struggling here at home trying to figure out WTF is going on with my equipment. For some reason, it didn't occur to me to check if the outage was on their end.
Starlink is a ripoff. Their Unlimited Roaming package ($189 Cdn per month) does not allow you to be out of your home country for more than 60 days at a time. The snowbirds in Canada want to go to Florida for 4 months.
I’m very limited on options. I went from .4 mps with my at&t “high speed” dsl to averaging around 300 mps with starlink. So, about 600x faster. Also the joy of telling at&t to FO.
One of my favorite characters i ever created was a lawful good paladin with a drinking problem. One time after a quest, the nobility of a town was giving our party leader the reward and my paladin, which was supposed to be in town, comes crashing through the window butt naked and hammered lol
Global outage happening for the past 30 minutes. I can't remember an outage like this since way back in the beta testing when they were just starting

It just took awhile for them to fly around turning all 7000 satellites off/on again.
I'm back up now in rural WV
And ironically, I just got an email with this month's biill...

Possibly related to this?
Tomorrow, July 25, 2025, according to the Simpsons is supposed to to be the beginning of the Internet crashing.
There's a sad irony in that we have to look to "The Simpsons" for real news!!
Which episode ?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dbVZ_EpRyyY
Ummm that's not a simpsons episode. That's some rando retard on the Internet made an ai video with pictures of the simpsons in some of the frames.

Q never said "ten days of darkness."
Q said "Ten days. Darkness."
Once with a typo that they never explained, thus has SOME sort of meaning.
Q said ten day darnkess (post 97), and he also said in another post ten days darkness (post 88).
Not as one sentence.

I got a text from my internet provider that service in my area will be down overnight either tonight or tomorrow night.
Sometimes man-made shit just breaks
Truth
Thanks Fren.

Can't even get to starlink.com. The must be having serious issues.
There was an update that needed to be installed on my transceiver. I installed it. Hoping it finds the satellites after the reboot.
Doubt it but we'll see.
Mines back now!
No dice. Still unable to connect.
I got the update, and hit install now. When my router rebooted I was offline. Came back a few hours later.
Amazon has had major outages too. It happens.
Let's see how quickly they recover.

Yes triage and recovery.

For those of us in rural areas, Starlink is the best thing since sliced bread.
And for those of us that like to camp and prospect deep in the wilderness, it provides entertainment and security.
This!🙌🏼
We love it.

Same here lol
We had Hughesnet for years…hughespileoshit it was.
It is indeed .
Unless your local utility has run fiber, then that is best. Starlink though, yes is a close second.
You'll have to pay for it though, their govt subsidy is ending
$50 us in Philippines
Someone should make a request directly to Elon.
That's Trump's job. Either the fallout is kayfabe or it's not.
They don't make money from providing to rural areas. Either that raise the price from here or the government subsidizes them
Says I am out of alignment
What, did you reroll for chaotic neutral again? I keep telling you lawful good is ok.
One of my favorite characters i ever created was a lawful good paladin with a drinking problem. One time after a quest, the nobility of a town was giving our party leader the reward and my paladin, which was supposed to be in town, comes crashing through the window butt naked and hammered lol
Mine did that too
"Worldwide, the outage has also impacted users in several countries, with particularly prominent reports coming from Ukraine."
It seems to have started in Ukraine. Some users suspect Russian cyberattack, but no proof of that. See comments on Downdetector.

Starlink out here too.
It happened with Yahoo Mail, too. Can't be a coincidence.
Hmmmm…I had a yahoo mail issue today also…didn’t connect the two. I’m slow…some…times…
And we're back. Came online about 2:38 PM Pacific.
I am on starlink... Think this is them preparing for the final transfer to QFS.
I'm on ROAM without need to use I won't fire up to find out...I might get billed...could be wrong
Calirado was back up about 16:00 MDT.
I had internet issues this morning and they weren't resolved before I left for work. The connection to the internet wasn't working.
I was off line for about an hour in MN and WY. (I have Starlink in both places) back on now.
