A project is a project, no matter how many buildings are included. If the estimated cost to complete went from $ 2.7B to $3.1B, there is nothing to say.

That’s the problem! Who allowed or authorized this amount of funding in the first place??!!! Why is the tax payer funding a privately owned operation who can clearly fund their own? (this is applicable to professional sports as well)

Right now trump is doing 2 things with this. First he is going to hold powell and the corp fed reserve accountable for the overruns. That overage went to corrupt politicians. Second, he is figuri g out who beside the fed he can have occupy the buildings. Kick them out boss.
Hmm, audit the contractors working on this addition. Find every dollar. Make sure nothing lining corrupts politicians back in Washington. Powell looks visibly shaken. And for good reason. Time to see where the money went and where it’s going.
It is civil construction. It is always possible to run into problems unforeseen, which is why there is a management reserve. The more dubious element is the general magnitude of the expense (~$ 3B). What on Earth are they doing that would justify so much construction? The Board itself has an annual budget of ~$ 1B. The system as a whole has an annual budget of ~$ 7B.
Good info on the budget overrun line item in a builders cost report. But yea, 3 billion? Trump just put them.on notice they are next at bat.

I would say pathetic. I don't feel much pain for a man who has to answer for his decisions and commitments, if they were ill-founded and secretive. How did Powell think he was going to sail past the pre-eminent construction entrepreneur of the nation? It's like von Braun walking in on your hobby rocket project.
