Also, on the exact day this (what was just a minor border dispute) escalated to stupid levels with Thailand sending F16's to bomb targets inside Cambodia, Trump removed the sanctions against Myanmar. Something has changed regarding US policy in SE Asia over the last few days. I suspect there is more to this happening behind the scenes.
