Because they have ALL fucking day to make videos. This is forcing people to work and be productive and thats great. With all the investment and jobs coming back we will need people working. Plus if they are busy and have responsibility then there will be less drama and crime. Win win.
I don't know what goes on there. I see too many people with TikTok brain as it is, no thanks.
It's a circle jerk of people that waste their time making tik tok videos and then the people that watch the tik tok videos. China wasting your time and keeping you from being productive on both sides using just an app.
While I fully support this idea, it’s important to clarify that it’s not a done deal—it’s still just a proposal at this point.
In my line of work, I partner with housing corporations that aim to educate and assist Section 8 recipients in transitioning from rental assistance to homeownership. These programs are designed to phase out support over time, helping people break the cycle of generational dependence on housing assistance.
I sincerely hope this proposal gains traction and becomes policy. But for now, it’s just a topic being floated—not something that has been passed or enacted.
Videos claiming it’s already law are irresponsible and misleading. Misinformation like that does more harm than good.
I work with section 8 all over the state of TX trying to get them off generational assistance. Rural, urban and city. The section 8 choice program does not discriminate by geography. My point was the changes described in the video HAVE been floated ans possible options but are NOT finalized and in fact are nothing more than dinner table topics of discussion at this point in time.
I own rental property and have rented to dozens of people on Section 8. One tenant for close to 20 years. Every month of those 20 years has been through Section 8. Now here is the thing about Section 8. They encourage people to work and like to see proof of effort in finding employment. However, as soon as a tenant finds a job, their housing assistance diminishes in relation to their new income. This de-incentivizes them from working. Literally, the more you work the more you lose. 2 years of guaranteed housing to find a job and gain stability is exactly what the program needs.
Section 8 needs to go away, period. The idea that you make people feel better for being leeches on hardworking people by letting them live in big houses other people had to work their ass off to get is insanity.
If you're sucking off the government--excuse me, taxpayer tit, you shouldn't get options. You get to live in a dormitory style building that you and everyone else who lives there has to upkeep. You don't get a credit card so you can buy birthday cakes, steaks, and whatever else you want--you get a big bag of beans, bag of flour, bag of rice, a big block of cheese, dried milk, and maybe a big jar of peanut butter. You want something else? Buy it with your own damned money or ask your church/friends/family/neighbors.
Ohhh Noooos. Cry me a river. 2 years max is great. It promotes and enables laziness in its current form. I do see the blue states expanding this program and sucking blue turds out of red states so that is a bonus. Just means blue states will be even shittier because they will take on the burden of housing these people indefinitely. But that is their problem.
Oh, so now all the deadbeats will magically 'trans' into 'mentally disabled' deadbeats.
The counter, of course is state insane asylums. I haven't seen any re-opening yet though.
They need someplace where they can go and string pasta necklaces during craft hour.

Cleaning up the projects. This will have a bigger impact on our cities than many may realize
In the long run it will be good for them
Gee. So much common sense. If people cant take care of themselves after 2 years rhey should go to the insane asylum.
This is great.
Where are all these jobs they're supposed to go to now?
Despite rosy numbers, this job market blows - for everyone
