In 1996 thereabouts, a jet crashed into the swamp not too far from the current site of Alligator Alcatraz. The jet, ValuJet Flight 592 had just disappeared into the swamp about 10 minutes after takeoff, so crashed with a full tank of fuel. I remember watching the recovery operation and marveling at the lack of debris and even evidence that a plane had crashed at all. My point is that the swamp eats a lot of pollution with no visible evidence of damage. It's so resilient and absorbs whatever we throw at it.

A lot of wetland plants and vegetation capture heavy metals near the roots or bulbs which basically sequesters these toxins from reaching the water supply. Or, in Florida's case the Florida aquifer complex.

Ron was VERY aware of the location prior to this operation taking off. Its literally in the middle of the Everglades National Park , a unique ecosystem to the rest of the world. He is a not a clown nor running a clown show over there. The materials and waste are being transported off site properly amidst strict inspects while next to Indian Reservations and the Seminole Indians whom everyone respects. So this is basically a Karen that will be schooled on the process, and the public be very enlightened by what they see. Currently the news paints a very left wing viewpoint at every opportunity , especially when a criminal resident whines or goes on food strike. They should have taken the bus, the cash and the raincheck to come back, but no. Too stupid to even extract themselves from it and commiting more crimes to Americans.
The land is owned by the State of Florida and was never ceded to the federal government. Therefore, the federal government has no general jurisdiction over the land.
Show me in the definitions of UNITED STATES and STATE in the EPA codes and regulations where they mention Florida. I won't hold my breath, because you won't find it.
