Last weekend I took my family to the Woodstock Fair in Connecticut. This fair attracts 200,000 people over just 4 days. Finding the main entrance was a challenge for us and an older couple as we exited our cars from one of the many grass fields used for parking.
The older lady says to us, "Are we going the right way to get in?". My smart ass son says "We don't know, we're Canadian". I bust out laughing but before I could correct him by saying "He's joking" her husband says" How you liking those Trump Tariffs? You aren't Trump people are you?"
My wife interjected by pointing out where the main entrance was and we start heading there now as a group.
So the guy continues on, how Trump is bad and is F'ing things up and then deliberately stops to turn and say to me "Nobody wants him dead more than me".
I ask him "Why's that?", but he had no facts like the classic Wojak NPC. This guy was a walking MSM zombie. I felt bad for his wife, but imagine that she MUST be in agreement with him otherwise he'd probable poison her by now.
Luckily my wife kept chatting politely with the wife and kept him distracted.
It’s not just MSM, it’s all the internet influencers. I know normies that never watch the news, and that is why their ratings are tanking. Many of them are getting all their information from the internet crazies.
Lefties also LOVE to say the Social Democracies in Europe offer FREE Healthcare for ALL, and everyone is so happy.
No, it isn't FREE, the US is paying for it because these countries haven't been paying for their national defense for 70 years. They rely on the US to protect them. So instead of paying for defense, they provide "free" healthcare, but from what I understand, it SUCKS. I have a German friend whose dad recently passed away in Germany, and he said they don't have air conditioning in their hospitals. Not that you NEED AC for healthcare, but if you can't even afford AC, what kinds of hospitals do they have? He also said that every single doctor he ever saw, from when he was a child until an adult, literally yelled at him every time, blaming him as the patient for needing medical help.
In fact, he had plugged up his ears during his flight to visit his dad this past summer. He went in to have them looked at because it was "free". This huge lady doctor slammed his ass into a chair, whipped out a razor blade and cut both of his eardrums open, jammed a Y-shaped metal tube up both of his nostrils and blasted high-speed air into his nose and out his ears. She then yanked the tubes out and told him his eardrums would be fine and he'd heal in a few weeks.
I'm in the middle of re-validating a proposal for a customer I did back in June. My employer is a VERY large worldwide business with many divisions that will source goods from ANYPLACE that is the cheapest. Since they bought us out, in the USA alone, they closed 3 large manufacturing plants, 5 service centers and several satellite offices.
I don't have visibility as to where these components are coming from, but our cost went from $2300 up to $5700 for one item and $2000 up to $4600 for the second.
Other items in my proposal are exactly the same as before so I assume that these are made here in the USA.
Knowing what we know about Trump's plan I knew it was a bad idea to close so many of our US locations. Corporate is probably kicking themselves in the ass now.
Good point. Sadly, about 20 years ago, a lot of our casting suppliers closed up shop in Pennsylvania. Out supply chain people started beating their chest that they were going to be our savior but it completely fell flat on it's face. Castings had porosity, wrong dimensions, entirely wrong patterns were made and QC couldn't reject them fast enough.
Turns out, they were getting DEEP discounts from sourcing them from Mexico, Brazil and India. Complete garbage. It got so bad, customers would demand US based foundries only. I have no idea where they come from now.
For instance if you say a storm is created by man, they call it a natural disaster but at the same exact time they say climate change is caused by man.
Old saying is to teach a bully a lesson you must make a fist and hit the bully square between the eyes. For those times it’s a woman bully a man should call a woman friend. The reverse these days a conservative woman can take care of the girly boys but still should have a man on stand by.

Im all for luxury taxes. Hell, even taxes on homes owned over 2 should be taxed heavily. We don’t need Jim bob sitting on 1000 empty homes because it cost him nothing to do so. We also don’t need Mary Sue sitting on 100 rental properties. We shouldn’t even allow corporations and foreign interests to own them.

It depends on the exact product, where you're sourcing materials, and what you can negotiate with brokerages.
I would actually guess from the price increase that they're all made in the US but some items source materials from China.
