The idea that India has "so many tech geniuses" is a flying farce.
What they do have is an abundance of decently-qualified people in tech, who are willing to work for pennies on the dollar!
(Which is still a lot for them btw)
They are not, I repeat NOT more qualified than Americans! Shove it up your ass, Elon!
They can do that back home. I think they're here for the parents to collect social security and get Medicaid from what I observed in my area.
It still boggles me though, they could create apps, software, phones, TV back home.. India has many resources. Idk what's stopping them. They come here bragging their kids are all straight As students who grow up in America to become doctors and engineers but my question is Why can't they do that back home? I hate that Indian pride.. they're not humble people either

This isn't surprising. When you compare the difference in population, you will see more 3 sigma Indians than Koreans. However, I work with many H1-Bs, and aside from being OK with being a 60 hour per week slave, a lot of them are nothing more than holding low to mid level jobs.

Indians are underqualified for their positions and overpaid for their work while still being paid less than an American in the same role. They are not leaders by their culture and operate mostly on survival at work. They also favor own and will bring in more Indians through their endless staffing companies all with generic names.
What I'm seeing online is telling me this whole thing is yet another bungled nothing-burger. It does not apply to existing visas or their renewals and it isn't even a yearly fee, just a one time up front cost. These companies are so fucking saturated with lying, thieving jeets, I'm not holding my breath that they wouldn't use company funds like that to keep bringing their shit-smeared cousins over. How every good idea gets sold to us sounding fucking amazing (no tax on overtime, no tax on tips, this h1b fee) but we end up with some watered down piece of shit final version so worthless they may as well have not even bothered is beyond my ability to understand at this point.
