My mother went to take the test years ago and became an American citizen. Sweden still considers her a Swedish citizen. She even asked what she would do with her Swedish passport,they said it was up to Sweden. I just asked her the details and she said I can even become a Swedish citizen,if I want.
She also said that she didnt need to answer the question,because of her age and the amount of time she lived here.
Edit she also said that they were told,they could not use any welfare or even the courts. They would be deported.

I doubt a lot of our current high school graduates could get 12 questions correctly answered. We need better educators not someone who babysits our kids for 12 years.

Does anyone know if someone that comes on a marriage visa(?) has to take this test? I know a fool who knocked up a Filipino Canadian and got married at 8.5 months in Canada. She did this purposely and wants to be a citizen here.
Any person who wants to become a citizen would need to pass the test, I would think.
