Let ABC keep losing money on his show due to poor ratings and let the libel lawsuits keep going our way - I dont really care - never watch him or ABC.

I don't have cable either. I do have a digital TV antenna for $67 live broadcast channels. I have ABC and seven of their affiliates.
They were waiting until Mr. Kirk was buried and the emotions surrounding his assassination quieted down. Now they feel it's safe to bring him back. That's the only "why" that makes any sense.

That surprised me. I predicted (earlier in the week) that they would wait a few months before reinstating Kimmel or a Kimmel-like substitute. I obviously underestimated their need to keep up the level of mind control they exert over the "woke" through programming disguised as humor. Perhaps there is a threshold beyond which, the programming deteriorates if it isn't reinforced often. I am not an expert on such matters -- but that is what I think the reason may be.
