Unfortunately, many places have protective custody that does not involve solitary. They live pretty much the same as general population but in their own little pedo world. People who make statements or testify often choose this option as well.
One thing I appreciated learning while inside (on the west coast, may be different elsewhere) is that there was a rule in place, that if you ever come across anyone who is PC, which would most of the time only be in passing while accompanied by guards, you were REQUIRED to at least attempt to assault them. If you did not, you would be punished.

Let me reiterate, marriage should be a contract between individuals. If this were the way that marriage was handled then the homosexual mob would not have had to "fight for their rights". No fight means no cause celebre, no wider acceptance of their sin because of their "struggle".
