Weird, fuel drops significantly yet the price of food keeps going up? If the cost to transport food has made a big drop that should in turn drop the price of goods. Well, it's not. I think Trump needs to look at the price gouging the supermarket industry is currently doing and has been doing since the scamdemic. Also, member when the price of jet fuel was through the roof and airlines said "well, we have to change a per bag fee until the price of fuel comes down"? People all went along with it and we're like oh, that makes perfect sense so we'll go with it. 20+ years latter the fee's are still their because airline discovered they where not only off setting the cost of fuel they were raking in tens of millions of dollars in free money so the fee's never went away.
Getting the price of diesel down would help. As delivery fuel prices increase most carriers as a surcharge to the costs. As the fuel goes down then delivery cost should drop. But you know as well as I do once the price goes up do we ever see the price come back down again?
You hit the nail on the head. While the price of gas is down, diesel prices have not changed in several years. That has to do with a refining and shipping problem.
Back in about the 90s diesel fuel was much less that gas, but then car companies began to build more diesel automobiles to get around Government regs on required fuel economy. It's always the Government's fault. Anyway, the demand for diesel went way way up along with the prices (supply and demand issue), and here we are paying more for groceries due to the high cost of shipping.
Gasoline is the first product when boiling crude during distillation, and about 45% of a barrel of crude is gas, so unless the demand for gas is super high (which they'll boil crude down until it turns into gasoline) it's the easiest and most abundant fuel to produce from crude.
Cannot get diesel without taking the gasoline off the top first.
Looking at prices, consider inflation as well.
There was $2 gas 20 years ago. If that was okay then, then $3.50 gas should be good now.
Synthesis of heavy oils and fuels from light products is not a new process, and similarly cracking lighter fuels from heavy products isn't new either.
Modern, American refineries focus on gasoline because it's a larger, more profitable market versus diesel. If that paradigm shifted, nothing prevents them from deriving more diesel per barrel than they do now, at the cost of gasoline yields. For instance, European refineries have gasoline yields of about 20% versus American refineries yielding 40%.
Unless something is done the food prices will never go back down, even though gas is going down. Grocery store employees are saying it won't go back down.
As far as airlines are concerned, when you book the basic seat tickets, they now charge you extra for any seat you pick. It's bad enough that they started charging extra for "special" seats, but this is ridiculous! That's another area Trump needs to hit hard is the airlines, now that he tackled the pharmacy prices.
Yea we can stop with the egg talk... our egg prices haven't changed at all. I have seen some movement in certain goods (nothing crazy but definitely cents cheaper). I'm not complaining because my hope is that this stone is going to take the time it takes to start rolling because of how heavy it is. Once that starts the momentum can hopefully carry itself. But stop with the eggs lol, they're still expensive.

Diesel is 3.09 here. Gas 2.79 and with loyalty discount 2.69. Havent seen the truck stops prices for awhile tbh so for rhem it could still be up.

There was $1 gas just 25 years ago, so I'm good with $2 now.
Average cost of gas in US in 2000 was $1.56
Av Oct 2025 $3.06
According to this it would be the same price after the index @ $2.98, so we're only 8 cents off

I may be off a year, but we definitely dollar gas in 1999.
Yep, we bought a new Suburban that year, can confirm $1 gas.
I'm sure, national avg wasn't the lowest price, it was the avg
Dont forget your thieving local tax collectors.

Diesel in some parts of Houstön is $2.85.
There's been a shake up with commodities lately...
Gold, silver and soon copper...
Oil is probably in the middle of it right now...
Discussed here: https://greatawakening.win/p/1ARJhhg8Fp/are-trump--putin-working-togethe/
It's all because Trump is sticking it to the British... London financials, British geopolitics, all of it.
Keep stacking...
thanks, interesting combo of people together sharing strategic thoughts, missed that yesterday
today gold /silver dropped or pulled back, hard to see it…hear it is normal for pull-back sand corrections
Nobody willingly gives up profit.

2lbs of 80/20 beef chop meat is still $10-$11 by me. I have not seen any relief at the grocery stores.
Three pounds of 80/20 went for 25 in SE Michigan last weekend.
I think that has more to do with the dollar is crashing. It's losing value so quickly, it's draining our wallets to try and just maintain.
Gas is up nearly 90 cents where I live in the past couple of days 😐
It was 2.30 and now it’s about 3.20
2.39 for me on last week at Walmart.
I just look at the same station, dropped 2 cents already.
Aah what? Where are you?
NE Ohio
Too far from OK and TX?
This is a big relief for all who use a lot of gas on their lives and businesses.
I don't but I still like to pay less though because it meant food and items would not cost as much.
Agreed.
We have more supply now that the illegals have been shipped out.
That's it.
2.39 for me at Walmart.
$2.87/gal. here in the mid west.
Yeah, Northeast it's still close to $3 a gallon. Not sure where this "cheap gas" is.
I drove across Missouri on I-70 a couple weeks ago. Marshall MO stations were advertising $2.45 a gallon.
Amen.
$4.09 NW Washington
Wow. 2.39 in AR
The experts are always silent when their obvious bullshit grifts are exposed.
Of course.

The eggs are a lot cheaper here now but since I buy from farmer directly it is still $5 a dozen.
Meanwhile, commie Washington state is still hovering close to $5 per gallon. We need to stop mail in voting in this state!
Yes. I used to be in WA. I moved 2021.
And where is this? Just filled up in NH, 3 59 a gallon, over 50 bucks to fill the tank in my liddle Legacy,
commiefornia, had to check out 4.62 https://gasprices.aaa.com/?state=CA
2.39 for me at Walmart couple of days ago.
that sounds more like where it should be across the USA!
Some said it's 2.89 in Atlanta. I am close to TX.
It’s also that time of year when blends change. Fuel reserves are being purged to make room for winter blends. Happens twice every year.
Heard that b4 also.
I just paid 2.86 for premium here in Texas…drill bay drill
Yes. A lot cheaper than WA or OR.
