we've been asking my MIL to apply for food stamps just to help out for years now and she refuses to this day.. she likes to keep above standard even if it means starving..and I understand. It's a pride thing.. we're just not that kind of people.. like i think i'd rather be dead.. no offense to anyone here.. maybe i need to learn humility or it's the wrong type of thinking? I have no idea.

That's how we were raised...

You just don't...

Sorry to say it out loud, but my kin is more likely to eat a bullet than nuzzle up to the govt teet.

No offense to those who need it and use it...but some just absolutely won't. They'd rather die. I'm not kidding or laughing.

It's been ingrained that deeply...

When I was growing up, there was nothing worse you could say of a man than "he's on the dole".

I can totally relate. Again, no offense to veterans or people who need it. There’s nothing wrong with it. I’m just speaking for myself and how this idea or attitude is so ingrained in me and family.

By the way, do you know where Bill Donahue is today? We’re trying to look him up online and if he’s still alive but the one shown on Google , a Catholic, is a different William Donahue. All I know Bill lives down south Jersey. They really erased him off the net.

Not sure...He might be dead already. He had to be pushing 70 back in the 90s, right?

You may want to message the YT channel and ask them:

http://www.youtube.com/@bdona4556

Also: https://www.hiddenmeanings.com/ Appears to be a WAY outdated DIY site...

Funny..."Your" South Jersey is not the same as my South Jersey....anything North of Trenton is North Jersey...lol!

My buddy from Cape May says, after I complan about shoebies cloggin up our roads - "I got news for ya pal...anybody who lives North of Cape May Courthouse is a shoebie..."...lol

Do let me know if you "get 'em on the blower" or locate him.

Just for S&G, here are two of my favorite BD videos - incidentally the VERY OLDEST in his video list on YT:

ONE

TWO

Many can't get through EITHER of them...and will either frickin blow a gasket, have a stroke or let their inner demon out to play as they try to argue about which bible is the "right one" and other stupidity....which is mainly why I love Bill's work. The park bench story is very good too...

Ha! Interesting. Anything below Sandy Hook is South Jersey to me.

I think Bill is still alive but very old for sure. The park bench story is awesome. I suspect it was some 5th dimensional being, and when he said he saw a UFO the next day, that kinda answered my question. I'm still not sure if what he's saying is true or a devil's trick, but alot of what he says is very interesting and makes sense, and I like keeping an open mind and not judge. I'm trying to learn to be more open minded and not dogmatic like how the churches demand their goers to be while staying true to the teaching of Christ w/ my own discernment. It will take alot of de-programming to swallow his pill. My husband likes him alot. I think if you guys sit down for coffee you'd have plenty to discuss.

If I hear anything new about Bill I'll keep you in the loop :) Cheers, Fren!

Thanks 'Loop 👍

If Christ is in your heart, NOTHING can oppose you. So go adventure...

When you know yourself & you're close to God, it's impossible for evil to turn you... especially if you maintain positive intentions. It just doesn't happen regardless if what the fearmongers try to push... they're full of shit with zero real life experience outside their pasture. Baaa!

Thank you. Very well said. This is something I've only learnt to accept lately and it has been quite a journey. I'm also trying to be more laid back and just surrender my worries and fear to God. We're like Neo from The Matrix, eh? :D

That cheese tho...

Granny lived in the hood (wasn't the hood back in its heyday) - would get the gummint cheese and those YUGE cans of beans - they HAD to be a solid gallon of fart seeds in that massive can!

That cheese was like a denser Velveeta....made some tasty grilled cheeses...

I am on food stamps. I am on social security no other retirement money. I am really good at not wasting what I have and believe in having A year's supply of food on hand most of what I have is rice ,barley, lentils and beans. I buy meat when its price is low. marked down meats and freeze what I get. lots of distressed canned goods... if I lost my food stamps permanently I would survive. I would have to rethink my spending on food maybe do Senior Gleemers which I did in the past. The fact that I purposely over the last 5 years bought more food then needed to build up a pantry means that I wont hurt food wise for 6 months. I am guessing that the stalemate will be over by then

Family, friends, community. Conservatives work and take care of their own. Trump supporters probably aren't on food stamps, and those that need to be will be taken care of by their family, etc.

I 100% agree with this. I see so many people whining about food stamps being taken away... one person even said that they are feeding their Mom since his food stamps were taken away, and I thought... why aren't you feeding her to begin with? If she's so broke, and you could have done it, why didn't you in the first place???? The government money is easy to get, free, and that way the kid could spend the money on fun things instead, I suppose.

We have given up taking care of the sick, poor, and broken and let the government do it. I think this is a good thing to have them taken away, people are actually stepping up and taking care of their own!!!!!!

Fams not on food stamps but, we are going/working without pay atm and that wont be long term viable for us. Just cut out all extra spending and canceled a few things for now so we dont start dipping into reserves yet. Dems need to stop playing games and let us get paid!

Yah we’re trying to save up too. It’s easy on keto diet and one meal a day we can just eat eggs one day and chopped meat the next day and no cooking required. Also they got these sardines and kippersnacks cans at our local dollar store and we stock up on those.. they’re actually good for you, plenty of nutrients and omega 3

There are plenty of Trump supporters on food stamps. There are anons here who are on assistance now, or have been in the past.

We need to stop acting like the only people on food stamps/Medicaid/Section 8 are liberals or illegals. That’s simply not reality. We are not perfect, and pretending otherwise just makes us look like hypocrites.

Check the states with the highest per-capita assistance usage — Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas. Are those all Democrat states? Of course not. Acting like financial struggle is exclusively a “liberal problem” is just denial.

And yes, there are Trump supporters upset about losing food stamps. You can see it in comment sections everywhere, if you’re paying attention. If this is truly an elite research board, we should be aware of facts, not just what makes us feel like we're winning.

A few examples:

https://www.clevescene.com/news/facing-snap-benefit-freeze-clevelanders-face-question-of-how-to-feed-themselves-and-their-pets/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

“I voted for Trump,” Jay, 41, told Scene. “This is my fault.”

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/may/28/food-stamps-lifeline-trump-america

“I voted for Trump: what a mistake… I thought he’s going to run the country like a business. I can’t see it.”

"MAGA Voter Furious..." https://youtu.be/iZGp2vdlvJc?si=xk4j_sJiUAMsmJms

Plus dozens of Trump-voters complaining in news and social media comment sections right now.

To be clear: I am not criticizing President Trump. And I’m not defending people whining about benefits. That’s not the point.

The point is that pretending no Trump supporters ever use or need assistance makes us look out of touch or delusional. We’ve always had patriots here who have temporarily needed help. They used programs responsibly and got back on their feet, nothing shameful about that.

We don’t need to act like every Trump supporter is financially bulletproof. Life happens. People struggle. Some anons here have been in that position or have family who are. That’s just reality.

Ignoring that reaity, or pretending Trump supporters never complain about losing benefits, just makes us look delusional and/or ignorant of current affairs.

We’ve always had patriots here who have temporarily needed help. They used programs responsibly and got back on their feet, nothing shameful about that.

And some who need lifelong help. My parents (in their 70s) are lifelong conservatives and are on all of the government programs, disability, social security, Section 8, food stamps, etc (and have been for about 40 years). The reason is that my father is partially paralyzed due to having had a bunch of strokes (he had his first stroke at age 12), and my mother has to stay home to take care of him (and isn't in such great health herself).

There are also veterans on EBT because they got permanently disabled in the line of duty. Yes, there are a lot of people who abuse the system, like the ones who have a bunch of children out of wedlock to increase the amount of EBT money they get, but not everyone on EBT is doing it to game the system. Some of them genuinely need it.

Very true. I'm sorry about your parents. I'm also sorry with how so many of our fellow anons are demonizing people who need that help.

Yes, there are many people who abuse the system. But not everyone who is on assistance abuses it and not everyone who abuses it are democrats/liberals/illegals.

I never said every single recipient was a republican. But the numbers alone say that there are Trump supporters on food stamps when every state with the most food stamp recipients per capita are republican states.

It just takes one to disprove the statement that there are no Trump voters on food stamps, not every single one. Understand?

Because we understand the danger of being reliant on the government for ANYTHING. We understand the value of hard work and self preservation. The self esteem boost that comes with providing for and taking care of yourself and your family on your own. We live within our means.

The most disgusting thing I’ve seen from all this is the attitude of entitlement from this leeches who abuse the welfare state. “You work and pay taxes to feed my children. You work for me” I’ve seen countless videos echoing that sentiment and of course there is always a few very common denominators.

Yeah that’s a fair point. I usually can spot them by looking at the mouth area just like you said. Even if the video here is fake, I still think the post overall is correct.

The majority of MAGA is not on food stamps because we take pride in earning for ourselves and not being reliant on government handouts to survive and eat.

The mindset and values of MAGA vs Leftism could not be any more stark. Frankly, I don’t know how we can continue to share a country with these people. They are dooming our children with their ignorance.

I have a theory - it's because their parents or grandparents went through the Great Depression and has taught/shown them a deep foundation on what it takes to survive. It's not really whether they're Trump voters, but it's because they understand (knowingly or subconsciously) that by taking a handout, they may lose the determination to survive. The way to help them is to just believe that they can make it by themselves - but of course, do assist them if they ask for it.

They may get food stamps too, but they surely won't whine if it's gone. It's a matter of mindset.

Example: Dandelion Salad. It's free, it's EVERYWHERE, AND it's healthy. But are you willing to eat it because the Cabal labeled it as weed, and it takes patience to make it?

▲ 3 ▼
– Magpi 3 points 218 days ago +3 / -0

For those among us that do need food stamps, don't forget that churches (at least in the south, I assume everywhere else too) give out food, usually on Saturday mornings - canned and boxed goods. People turned to the churches in times of need.

For those of us not on food stamps, consider giving donations to your local churches this month and beyond, I'm sure the demand is about to go up.

Edit to add, some of us here not on food stamps might be in the future. As businesses lose income because consumers are tightening their wallets and their belts, companies may lay off, some of us may lose our jobs and NEED some form of assistance ourselves in the future. This shutdown could drag on for some time.

Sadly as long as the illegals are on it it wont have enough.

permalink parent save report block reply

I do agree with this. Before food stamps became a thing, churches took care of people. That also brought people more to religion. Now government takes care of them, and that brings people more to the government and away from religion. If churches take care of people again, people will turn more to religion again.

Because we are the majority of the working class, bottom to top. Self reliant with enough morals and work ethic to thrive without handouts.
