WOW — so much planning and strategy had to go into this. The Dems are in a maze finding every way they turn has a “gotcha”. The people (potentially since I know some dumb Dems) could see the Dems not funding a clean cr and letting the snap benefits lag to cause pain to push DJT to add benefits (MORE) for illegals. And we all are finding out the real size of the SNAP recipients as well as the make up of who receives them and how they are misused. All the while with this setting it up so Tariffs are approved so some of that money can be used for snap benefits for at least a month! Damn that’s top level strategy!!!!

We dont need SNAP! We dont need to be providing benefits to those who cant make a liveable wage working at Walmart. If snap went away, then so would all the Walmart employees who require snap to survive because multi billion $ corporations pay them next to nothing. End of the day, Walmart and the like will raise wages or face their employees finding new places to work.

Did Trump Use Courts to Greenlight Tariffs to Fund SNAP? A Complete Breakdown
TL;DR: No. This didn't happen. Democrats sued to force SNAP funding, judges sided with them, and Trump was compelled to act. Here's what actually went down.
The Rumor vs. Reality
The Rumor:
Trump cleverly used the courts to approve tariffs (not taxes) to fund SNAP benefits, based on some obscure 1935 law, trapping Democrats who are suing over his tariffs so they'd look like the bad guys.
The Reality:
Almost everything about that rumor is backwards. Let's break it down piece by piece.
What Actually Happened: The SNAP Crisis
The Setup:
The government shut down on October 1, 2025, because Congress didn't pass a budget
SNAP (food stamps) serves 42 million Americans at about $8.6 billion per month
The USDA said it would stop SNAP payments on November 1st due to lack of funds
The Lawsuits:
Democratic-led states (25 of them plus DC) sued the Trump administration
They argued USDA had emergency funds available and was refusing to use them
Federal judges in Massachusetts and Rhode Island ruled for the Democrats
Courts ordered: "Pay the benefits using available emergency funds"
The Outcome:
Trump posted on Truth Social that he'd provide funding "if given appropriate legal direction"
The courts gave that direction—against his administration's position
USDA was forced to use emergency contingency funds
Bottom line: Democrats sued and won. This wasn't Trump's clever trap—he lost in court.
The 1935 Law: What's Section 32?
Here's where it gets interesting but not scandalous:
Section 32 of the Agricultural Adjustment Act (1935):
Automatically sets aside 30% of customs/tariff revenue each year
Creates a permanent fund (currently about $23 billion)
Used for agricultural support and child nutrition programs
The money comes from already collected tariff revenue, not new tariffs
What Trump DID do with Section 32:
Used it to fund WIC (Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program) during the shutdown
Transferred $300 million in October to keep WIC running
What Trump DIDN'T do with Section 32 initially:
Claimed he couldn't legally use it for SNAP (even though the money was there)
House Speaker Mike Johnson said "no legal avenue exists" for SNAP
Only moved to fund SNAP after judges ordered him to
The key point: Section 32 already existed. No court "greenlighted" it. Judges just told USDA to use the funds that were already legally available.
The Separate Battle: Supreme Court and Tariff Authority
There's a completely different legal fight happening that has nothing to do with SNAP:
The Case:
Small businesses and states are suing over Trump's broad tariffs (10-60% on 92 countries)
They argue Trump illegally used emergency powers (IEEPA) to impose what amounts to a massive tax
Lower courts ruled against Trump—said the tariffs exceeded his authority
Supreme Court is hearing arguments tomorrow (November 5, 2025)
What's at stake:
Whether the President can unilaterally impose sweeping tariffs by declaring vague economic "emergencies"
$158-190 billion already collected in tariff revenue
Potentially $2.1 trillion in refunds if tariffs are struck down retroactively
Why this matters for SNAP/Section 32:
If the Supreme Court kills the tariffs, customs revenue drops dramatically
Section 32 gets 30% of customs revenue—so that fund shrinks
Could create a crisis for child nutrition programs by early 2026
But these are two separate lawsuits. The SNAP funding case is about using existing money. The Supreme Court case is about whether Trump can impose the tariffs in the first place.
Did Democrats Get "Trapped" or Look Bad?
No, the opposite happened:
✅ Democrats sued to protect SNAP benefits
✅ They won in federal court
✅ Judges ordered the administration to release funds
✅ Public opinion sided with "don't let 42 million people go hungry"
The political optics actually hurt Trump/Republicans:
They funded WIC (7 million people) using Section 32
But claimed they couldn't do the same for SNAP (42 million people)
After judges ruled, it looked like they chose not to help—not that they couldn't
The Nuance: Why Didn't They Just Use Section 32 From the Start?
This is where it gets into legal weeds:
The administration's argument:
Section 32 money is supposed to fund school meals and child nutrition
Using it for SNAP would "rob Peter to pay Paul"
They'd have to cut other nutrition programs to fund SNAP
Critics' response:
You used Section 32 for WIC without any problem
The fund has $23 billion—plenty for both
This was a political choice dressed up as a legal constraint
What judges said:
You have contingency funds ($5.25 billion)
You have discretion to supplement with Section 32
Figure it out and pay the benefits
What Happens Next?
Tomorrow (Nov 5):
Supreme Court hears oral arguments on tariff authority
Decision expected by end of year
Could fundamentally reshape how much power presidents have over trade policy
Possible outcomes:
If tariffs are upheld:
Section 32 stays flush with money
SNAP/WIC funding continues without crisis
Presidential tariff power remains broad
If tariffs are struck down:
Treasury loses ~$180 billion in annual revenue
Section 32 fund drops by ~$50 billion over 18 months
Could force nutrition program cuts by March 2026
Creates massive fight over farm bill and spending
Most likely (based on legal expert predictions):
Narrow 5-4 decision upholding current tariffs
But limiting future emergency declarations
Written by Justice Barrett
Keeps money flowing short-term but creates uncertainty for 2026+
The Bottom Line in Plain English
What you should know:
No clever trap happened. Democrats sued Trump's administration over SNAP funding and won in court.
The 1935 law isn't new or secret. Section 32 has existed for 90 years and automatically gets tariff money. Courts didn't "greenlight" anything—they reminded USDA the money was already there.
Two separate court battles. Don't confuse the SNAP funding fight (Dems won) with the Supreme Court tariff authority case (still pending).
Real crisis could come in 2026. If the Supreme Court strikes down tariffs, Section 32 funding collapses and nutrition programs face cuts.
This is about separation of powers. Can the President unilaterally impose what amounts to taxes through emergency declarations? Or is that Congress's job? The Supreme Court is about to weigh in.
Why This Matters
This isn't just bureaucratic inside-baseball. This is about:
42 million Americans depending on SNAP benefits
7 million on WIC
Whether presidents can bypass Congress on major economic policy
How $180+ billion in tariff revenue gets collected and spent
And it's all coming to a head this week.

Personally I use brave browser and when I hold the link on mobile I choose "copy clean link" or on desktop I right click and select “copy clean link"
Alternatively you can copy the link on any browser and then just delete the extra stuff at the end.
If "Copy Clean Link" can be used to clean up forwarded links, this is a game changer. I will need to play around with it.
Thank you!
This looks like a master chess move to me.
Agreed!
Which company installs more spyware, tiktok, Facebook, Gurgle, Macroshaft, or Amazon?
All of the above lol.
Don't you have some other link besides this gay ass spy app?
