Icy Silence from Climate Doomers as Controversial Study Outlines Possible New Ice Age
A possible new ice age and attendant sea level changes could be ushered in as a result of shifts in a key Atlantic current, climate scientists set out in a controversial new study.
Ahhh just like the 70s
We've come full-circle. ❄️ ☀️ ❄️
Yeah! A real nostalgia trip!
Yep. Actually overdue a little bit.
We are past due on planetary cooling only due to human activity, but the next cooling trend has already started according to Earth's orientation predicted by the Milankovitch Cycle.
I'm willing to bet we will burn coal on purpose to produce atmospheric CO2 in order to stave off the coming planetary cooling and the forming of the inevitable ice sheets until we find a way to survive as a species.
CO2 can't warm the air nearly as much as they like to pretend. If the globe cools and causes the atmosphere to drop its water as snow, co2 can't even begin to help - even at the maximum we've seen in core samples of around 6000ppm.
We will burn coal to stay warm because there are many places you can just grab it from shallow digs (as replacement to trees), not because it will produce co2.
If we are smart, we will found hundreds of nuclear reactors so we dont compete with electricity for our vehicles.
Yes, water vapor is much better at being a greenhouse gas but we would need to be producing stupendous amounts of it as the atmosphere cools and dries out and we try to replace it.
Trouble is getting it back into the atmosphere in quantities large enough to make a difference.
I'm saying that putting that much CO2 in the atmosphere is pointless.
Trying to do it for water is beyond our capacity. Even if we used every one of my theoretical 100 nuclear plants to just boil off water 24/7, the atmosphere is too big. And the ocean is much much bigger.
We hosed when the earth says we are.
Not too sure any massive advancement in technology would be anywhere near enough to stop a planet-wide cooling event.
Most will starve long before we figure it out.
We already have solved it. People live in frozen climates today. There are a few things to concentrate on, like making sure we have insulation on everything (cars, homes, etc) and then making sure we have electricity and gas/diesel. Food can be grown (probably lose out on beef and eat a lot more pork and chicken in the frozen places because of space) anywhere we build a building to clear the snow from the top soil.
Which is why I said to found the nuclear plants. So that we don't compete for electricity (e.g. by using oil and gas for electrical generation) when we drive our vehicles.
And even if we go to full snowball earth, it'll take us generations to get there, so we'll have the time to adapt.
I don’t trust the mainstream science on ANY topic.
And.... He was right again...

This will certainly piss of the MSM and have the illegals scurrying back to where the fuck they came from.
Have an ICE day......😉😜
Chicago and LA too, have an ICE day!
.....and the fake and gay climate change narrative repeats. Just like everything else with humanity.... Fake and gay until God gives us that good ole' factory reset someday. Between this, inflation not going down, continuing empty promises of money for Americans, continuing intraglobal BULLSHIT, Fake and Gay muhh izrill, and of course..... That batshit crazy drunk bitch nan piglosi still in the halls of Congress talkin shit, with no recourse- 4th Horseman was lucky. Along with everybody else that died. We are stuck here in fucktown.
Exactly, the pendulum of these guys' opinions swing back and forth. I'm old enough to recall way back when "climate pseudoscience" was predicting that the planet would freeze over.
There was even a popular movie back then, depicting a frozen world where human life was so empty that people played killing games just to relieve the boredom.... it starred Paul Newman and it was called "Quintet."
Hollywood has always been eager to jump on whatever bandwagon is passing through town at any given moment.
I remember when Obama was still president he ordered Florida Governor Rick Scott to take land from the development track, and move it to the agriculture track. They were going to need Florida to grow more food for the country as the growing seasons would become shorter, because it is going to be colder sooner seasonally and longer.
The graph matches up to the 100 yr cooling period In 1749. When the spikes go down for the extreme cold they do move up for extreme heat that we see in the summer. But Summers are shorter. Snow is sooner, growing seasons shorter.
The guy I follow for weather from the Navy said we were going into a cooling period. Now we see it. Snow before Thanksgiving Thanksgiving. Cooler fall weather.
It is a natural cooling period.
What's great is where I live we usually have a snow before Halloween, but it's been really warm here
DJT did say that the world will get colder, on some MSM interview a few years ago. Greta the doom goblin says hello
This is all part of Earth's cycle. As the atmosphere warms, it melts the ice caps, forcing fresh water into the ocean and into the AMOC. As the AMOC continues to get inundated with fresh water, it cools down and eventually "stops." The current doesn't actually stop moving, it just moves so slow that it loses almost all warmth. As this occurs, the atmospheric temp begins to cool down because the cooler Atlantic and Pacific Oceans can't produce the higher humidity rates that help keep the planet warmer. The storm seasons shorten, and the planet cools down. The ice pack grows, we slide into an ice age, and the cycle repeats.
The problem with articles like this is that they ALWAYS fail to say how long the timelines are. This process takes thousands of years to play out. It'll be another 5-10 generations until Earth is actually under a full on ice age.
And for anyone that may get a little stressed out by the potential doom of our descendants, humanity has survived at least one ice age, most likely two, and with technology a helluva lot less advanced than our own. We went from the horse/buggy and wind powered sails to nuclear powered vessels and space flight in under 160 yrs after the start of the Industrial Age. We're on th verge of some major technological breaktheoighs that will see us attain long term space flight, so tell the doomers not to worry too much. Besides, they and at least 4 generations of descendants will be long dead before the next ice age.
I have told this to my wife so many times it’s now her go to when someone brings up climate change. “It’s just a cycle, calm down” lol
The Younger Dryas happened 13,000 years ago, the precession of earth is a 26,000 year cycle. If you live in Montana and plan on living be 13,000 years old I'd recommend moving south to New Mexico or further. I plan on living only 40 or so years more and have no children so climate change is a big can of NMP (not my problem).
How many taxes will it take to stop it!
Nothing short of full taxation will be sufficient
Ahhhhh…. Oops, global warming…er climate change fear tactics aren’t working…. Break out the new scary ice age!
Yes, we are in or heading into a Maunder minimum as far as the Sun goes. Right now there's plenty of activity, but on a longer time line it will approach a minimum which tends to cool the Earth.
Oh no! If only we had paid the UN trillions of dollars to save us from the global warming that's gonna cause global cooling!
How dare we?!
TLDR; The weather changed. IT"S GLOBAMMING! /sar
