The lockdowns have been over for a couple of years now, so what excuse is the gov't going to make for not doing checks now?

Were all the violations found evenly across all of the centers, or in just one or two of them?
Were the inspections done during business hours where kids would even be present?
And why does the existence of a safety inspection, which doesn’t even have the grounds or scope to investigate fraud, have ANY relevance to the proof of existence of fraud or lack thereof?
That would be like saying “the food inspectors found a violation in how garbage was taken out, therefore the owner must not be lying on his taxes”. That’s not even the purview of the inspection.
Hopefully them casting aspersions/doubt on Nick Shirley exposes them to some kind of libel and/or slander lawsuit and they get sued for a few million. I'm sure they learned no lesson from Trump.
