This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

Trump is right that they will impeach him we dont win mid terms. So here what what we need to do that will solidify a republican win. #1. More tax cuts to offset tarrifs along with a check rebate in the mail for that 2k. #2. Mass Domestic arrests of corrupt groups, politicians, ect. "Drain the swamp". Arrest them before they arrest us. 3. Continue to get energy prices down, grocery prices down, and maintain that strong GDP growth.
These 3 key issues for 2026 will he huge. Im sure they have plans but these are the key areas I see our side complaining about the most.

Know your BEER History: European beer was made with a blend of wild herbs called gruit. Yarrow, bog myrtle, mugwort, wild rosemary, juniper. Medieval sources describe it as energizing and aphrodisiac. Some even reference "gruit sickness" from overconsumption.
Then the Reinheitsgebot happened and suddenly beer could only contain hops, barley, and water.
Here's what they don't mention in the history books:
The Catholic Church held a monopoly on gruit production through something called "gruitrecht." Massive revenue stream. Making hops mandatory broke their monopoly and transferred that revenue to the state and to hop farming guilds.
Hops are also a sedative. They're literally used in sleep medicine. The switch from stimulating gruit herbs to sedating hops meant the peasant class went from drinking something that woke them up to something that kept them calm.
And here's the kicker. Hops contain 8-prenylnaringenin, one of the most potent phytoestrogens known. This was confirmed in a 1999 study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. Female hop farmers historically experienced menstrual disruptions from just handling the plants.

Theres this guy I have known since he was barely a teenager, hippie kid, he went from full blown vegetarian to homesteading, raising meat for his wife and kids. A couple of years back he took up home brewing as a hobby, growing his own hops, etc, a purist do it yourselfer.After studying ancient brew masters from Europe and Switzerland, he started adding various herbs and wildflowers, basically what his land provided, and mixes up specialty batches of these, a local store sells his wares. He uses yarrow, clovers white and red, apple blossoms, sage, coriander, what have you. Our hope lies in self sufficiency and small farms. There is not one state in this abundant land that could not provide food for local markets. These beers and ales, from pilsner to strong hoppy ale, are for people who do not want to pour 12 packs of Clydesdale urine into their gut on a daily basis.
