Sometimes I think I was raised politically more by Rush than by my parents.
I still find myself thinking about turning on the am radio at noon to catch Limbaugh when I'm driving on vacation - that's when I was most easily able to listen.
Actually drinking a hot beverage right now from my "Charter Member of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" mug my my now wife got me with a Limbaugh Letter subscription.
For those too young to remember, "Vast Right-wing Conspiracy" was a phrase Hitlery coined back in the day, which the Right quickly embraced, weaponized and used against her and her sordid party.
Found him for the 1st time in 1993 in the middle of the night while feeding my newborn. He was on the local tv news channel around 2am. I was hooked. I listened to him up until 2016 during the primaries. I will always love Rush as he was a Missouri boy and a great American. He is greatly missed.
I listened regularly from around 2015 on. He changed how I look at things. He helped me think differently, and unapologetically. My opinion doesn't matter, but I would say he's the number one radio personality of all time.
Edit to add additional memories:
"Talent on loan from God"
"With half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair"
"Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have"
"...my formerly nicotine stained fingers"
And I can't forget he intentional shuffling of his stack of papers into the mic.
President Donald Trump announcing he's awarding Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian honor, during his first SotU address.
It was a beautiful moment, agreed. From what PDJT said at the SotU, Rush hadn't been feeling great, really didn't want to attend because of his health, but PDJT insisted he come, got Rush's wife to make sure he did. Rush had no idea it was for this medal.
The fact is that Rush deserved this medal for his amazing, tireless dedication to speaking the truth. He reached so many people, was truly like a beam of light shining in the darkness.
I didn’t realize that, and yet, on my drive this morning I was wishing I could listen to some archived Rush shows. His voice, wit, and wisdom were always a comfort for me.
I still have an EIB money clip and a Dan's Bake Sale Shirt packed in my things somewhere, and a box of Limbaugh Letters - One of which has a letter from me in it. He had a great sense of humor, and wasn't afraid to use it against neo - cons and liberals.
still have a coffee cup in the cabinet from his company.
Rush knew more than he told us. In the world of trading and secrets... Teachers do that though. They want to teach others how to learn more than them..
one of my favorites was when he tries and teaching others the mentality of the Democratic Party.. He knew the answer, but he wanted to lead people into the phase of understanding.
Not one democratic politician in the USA is not vetted into the belief they are royalty and/or they truly are royalty and children from the masters of the world. Many of the whole entire system is.
I remember being to the fable in elementary school.. anyone who is a child in the USA can become POTUS if they want. That was the seeds they would plant in the early 80's. I knew better then too. The same teacher saying that BS was also saying we came from monkeys and had pictures on the wall of a monkey transforming into a human.
Rush might have been of those who are in the realm of the masters of the world but he decided to go against his birth right.
nothing is far fetched when you see no one has been arrested on the Epstein List and Hunter Biden just vanishes along with Fauci and the rest of the elite world rulers.
Rush's rhetorical exploration of when life begins (spark at conception), and that human life is special, I know has kept at least one person from being aborted in the womb.
Every morning before my day I say prays for numerous persons, one of which is Rush, is on my list. For me I was 65 years old when he pass on it was a bad day. I go way back to the first time, when I saw him on a his own tv show, then into radio. I listened to him mon-Friday 9am to noon, Rush, I miss you so much, a Bright Light in a world of so much evil especially in the news media, and politics. Amen🙏🇺🇸
He was so funny, much of his humor went over many heads, I remember one day he was offering callers a genuine Rush Limbaugh EIB mug or $100.00 in cash.... Some people took the mug (it was for sale on his website for 19.99 ) but the way he sold the mug, the people not realizing what he was demonstrating was so amazing. I miss my friend too m much.......
Because libs have no sense of humor, a lot of what he said either went over their heads, or they took things too literally. He’s a lot like GEOTUS in that a lot of what he says/said was tongue in cheek, trying to get a rise out of the left. They fell for it almost every time, because they have no self awareness.
We loved Rush, we listened to him every day. 😢
Still miss him too.

You have a fabulous wife. Lucky man.
Took a long time to find her. And that was back in olden times before women went bat shit crazy as a group.
Rush babies. My son was one for a while.

Neat story. Fabulous memory.
Oh I miss Rush. I get great pleasure, though, in imagining my dad having deep discussions with him in heaven!
I can't believe it's been 5 years...definitely miss listening to him.
Yes...seems incredible! Miss him daily!

I’ll never forget the millions of reee’s that went out from that announcement 😆
Just thinking about that time still brings tears. The awe, surprise on his face lives with me.

Miss him all the time. There’s no one who can fill his shoes.

Still have the app on my phone.
God bless him for all he did for us. WWG1WGA
Honestly wish he made it to the promised land with us.

Dan’s Bake Sale. That’s from way back..
I was at Dan's Bake Sale! Flew into Denver with my dad for that!
I've still got some of the newsletters he sent out.
And his app is still on my phone. Will never delete.

Rush was amazing. It was interesting to hear today that the "Reverend" Jackson passed away five years later to the day that rush passed away.

I remember him giving away brand new iPhones too ❤️ him
Rush was central to my daily life. It's never been the same since.
I know. Me too.
