Ali (Isse) Gainey is a former senior staffer for U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, serving as her deputy district director in Minnesota’s 5th congressional district. He became the central figure in a series of allegations made by Project Veritas in September 2020, which claimed he coordinated illegal ballot harvesting operations targeting elderly voters in the Charles Horn Towers public housing complex in Minneapolis. According to the investigation, Gainey was allegedly involved in a scheme to collect absentee ballots from seniors, sometimes in exchange for cash, and to assist voters—particularly those with limited English proficiency—by helping them fill out ballots, including at the voting booth.
The allegations also included claims that Gainey managed ballot collection efforts, paid precinct workers, and used a database to track ballots. These activities were said to violate Minnesota state law, which limits third-party ballot collection to no more than three ballots per individual. In response, Omar’s campaign denied the allegations, stating that no one in the video was part of her staff and dismissing the report as baseless. The Minneapolis Police Department announced it would investigate the claims, but no criminal charges were publicly filed against Gainey or others involved.
Project Veritas has been criticized for its methods, including editing and presenting footage in a way that some claim misrepresents context. As of March 2026, there is no public record of a conviction or formal legal action against Ali (Isse) Gainey related to these allegations.

We the people need to STOP blaming voters. The "You voted for this clown so you deserve the consequences" excuse should never be used. Not in CA. Not in NY. Not in IL. Not in OR. The people are not voting these assclowns in. The majority of people do NOT want the "blue states". Its the ballot harvesting and fraud that needs to be dealt with. Never again should we blame "dim voters" bc they are far outnumbered.

This is widespread and they all know it. One of the major causes of voter suppression is disenfranchisement. Why bother if it's fixed?
Exactly. Happening in every "blue state". Cali, Illinois, Oregon, NY, etc. It's exactly why, on election night, they call these states for the dims with 1% of the vote counted. "Blue states" don't exist without this fraud.

I've lived in Minnesota my entire life (though if not for elderly parents, I would have left a long time ago).
I strongly believe that Minnesota is a majority red state (though not by a lot). Unfortunately, Minnesota is perhaps the easiest state in the union to control via election fraud because 60% of the population is based in one population center. It's a relatively small amount of geography within which to manage voting fraud and there's not a soul working in the Minneapolis or St. Paul governments that isn't a Democrat.
The entire rest of Minnesota with the exception of Duluth is deep red. But they have no voice.
I have a personal experience with this fraud in 2020. My vote in GA just ... disappeared. No record of it.
I knew something was up when I saw the cables connected to the machine where I inserted my ballot. My question about it was met with being shown the door.
