Abolish the TSA. Make airports liable for any terrorist that gets through their checkpoint. Now all of these TSA agents can get new jobs for the private sector, and we don't have to yield our 4th amendment rights to government agents to fly.
I can remember back in the day when it was actually fun to fly. I agree with abolishing the TSA and making the airports pick up the bill, instead of the taxpayers. We donβt have much more money to give anybody, really.
TSA should adopt the El Al model and FOCUS ON THE PASSENGER, not the baggage and carry ons. Already have a "no fly" list...expand it and get rid of the DEI filters.
Airports are funded by local or state governments too, at least partially, soβ¦ taxpayer money. Airlines used to pay for some amount of security, and they operate on very tight margins. It used to be a luxury to take an airplane to travel, flights were out of reach of most ordinary people. Now, you can get airline tickets for a very low prices (compared to the 60s and 70s). Thank the capitalist free market competition system. However, low prices created the problem of thousands of of lowlifes crowding into airports and causing problems. TSA screening stopped the pickpockets and other riffraff from being able to easily cruise through the inner parts of airports. That was the only upside. Unfortunately, there are now just so many travelers in large airports, itβs suffocating. I avoid large ones whenever possible. Small regional airports can easily be regulated by local personnel.
Where are others that are extremely well off? Nobody else offered? Where is someone, something from the left??? Nope! nothing. How very predictable!!! This shows again that we are so unlike the left and their pals - so much better.
I haven't flown since 2011 and that was for work. I have not flown for pleasure since 2002, not because I'm afraid, it's because it's an unpleasant experience all around.
Airports are Federal Property. Set the Airline industry free to own them & pay for them and be liable for terrorism / accidents. Only then can they be free.
thoughtful, would like TSA reform like treating Americans with dignity, AI can tell which foreigners and citizens are likely to cause βtroubleβ without making all airline travelers go through scanners, invasive patdownsβ¦ we even had the. trch back in 2000 before 9/11 per Richard Morris political analyst
You know who would really like this? Airports. People that would come to airports to see their families off would more than likely park in the short-term garages, and when they went to the gate they would likely buy food/drink/snacks - then they would leave. So - more food/drinks purchased and more expensive parking paid for = profit percentages paid to the airports. They might add more short-term parking, but it would bring more money cycling in all day.
nice idea! someday⦠so on and on in this thread, said that airports get too crowded and riffraff come in and pick pocket at big airports. So to avoid that and get your idea going., we just have number of guests entering in the gate area with each traveler and then no problem (reservations)
That actually existed at some point. I know I sent my daughter (I think she was 12 or 13) to visit family on the East Coast years ago and she was traveling alone (direct flight). I had to get a non-boarding boarding pass and go through security like a normal traveler. It was really easy.
I also know that (at least in the past) people could set up business meetings in some of the bigger airline lounges. They were primarily designed to have people from all over going to one central hub and then fly back to their cities. There were ways for locals to get a pass to attend the meeting as well. I don't know if that is still a thing or not, but I saw it sometime in the late 20teens.
Kek - my Mom wanted to do the same and I wouldn't let her. I was 17 and didn't want Mom tagging along - especially since we were all supposed to meet as a group before boarding.
It was my first time flying as well. I actually got the flight attendant to give me a beer by telling her I was going to basic.
Here's a thought:

ELON! Great that he is doing this, BUT...
Where are others that are extremely well off? Nobody else offered? Where is someone, something from the left??? Nope! nothing. How very predictable!!! This shows again that we are so unlike the left and their pals - so much better.
Thank you Elon and Godβ bless.

Agree. I'd rather book a suite in a train lol

Bless you Elon!
Are we certain he is offering of his own free will ?
Or is this a portion of his penance like Twitter ?
Either way , thank Goodness.
thanks Elon...........its time to torch the democrats once and for all

All they've managed to prevent is people taking water bottles on flights. I'm so "old" I remember going to the gate to see a friend off on her trip.
FWIW, Michael Chertoff owns the company that sold all the scanners to the TSA.
β70s and β80s flights memorable for me, nice you could meet friends at the gate then!
thanks for the Cheryoff reference.

those seem to be the best days, maybe somebody can run for Congress or something and make this happen again
Same. My parents and siblings came all the way to the boarding line when I was headed to basic in 85 lol.
First time I ever flew anywhere

Lol
Patriot and pretty sure a big part of the PLAN!
GOD BLESS you ELON

What if American citizens could direct where their tax dollars go by direct donations to the agencies?
Is Congress playing the part of middlemen?
It would probably take an amendment for that since it's CONgress' job.
The Deranged Left and the Dems Will find a way to make this 'evil' and 'deranged' Or, Elon has some alterior motives....π€ππ₯±π
Elon. One of the best of the good guys. I appreciate him so much.

Wow...he is great
LOVE this, but he just put all Tesla owners in jeopardy of being run off the road or having their vehicles keyed by insane libtards...again.
