If nothing else, the existence of the White House app allows those "engagement farmers" on X to have a reliable source to base their posts off of instead of just going off of whatever seems to be viral in the moment (which is exactly what engagement farmers do, chase whatever's going viral).
It's why I stopped going on X, the constant amount of fearmongering and rage inducing posts on there, it always put me in a bad mood just scrolling on there for a few minutes, seeing things that are happening all over the world and there's nothing you can do about it. Kinda have a feeling that's why people are so angry all the time, scrolling on X will piss you off instantly.

If this website has applications that users will route their traffic to, which then routes that traffic to other parts of the internet, that just means the government has an easier time spying on said users.
I'm assuming they want to be able to use this new weapon themselves when Trump leaves office. If they call it state propaganda now, the label will stick if and when they get control of the white house again.
